Chapter 4

"Stop!" Tanjiro yell then throw a stone at him

The man just deflect it with his sword while holding Nezuko. Tanjiro saw his hatchet nearby so he ran towards it at the same time, a gust of strong wind with snow passed between them. Tanjiro pick his hatchet and another stone then run at the trees surrounding the man. Tanjiro throw the stone at him while passing by the big tree then attack him straight forwardly while yelling with his arms at the back where his weapon is.

'A straight forward attack driven solely by emotion...' The man thought

"You fool!" The man said then knock him out with the handle of his sword.

Nezuko stop thrashing around when she saw her elder brother unconscious on the ground. She look at her brother and her eyes shows fear of what might happen to him. The man notice Tanjiro doesn't have the hatchet in his hands.

'Where's his hatchet?'

That's when he sense something above him. He look above him only to see the hatchet is in the air and heading straight to his head. He move his head sideways to avoid getting his head cracked open by the hatchet. He realize Tanjiro's actions earlier.

'Just before he hid behind the tree, he hurled that rock towards me and at the same time, tossed the hatchet in the air. He hid his hands as he pretended to attack so I wouldn't realize he was unarmed. He knew he couldn't beat me. He tried to bring me down after I struck him! This kid... '

He stop on his thoughts when Nezuko starts to move then kick him away from her. She ran towards Tanjiro while her hand is held out.

'Damn! She'll devour him!'

That's when he realize he's wrong because Nezuko stood infront of her unconscious brother to protect her brother from him.

He remember how Tanjiro pleaded at him earlier not to kill his sister and he said Nezuko never killed anyone. Nezuko a glare at him then attack him with her sharp claws.

'Long ago, someone once said the same thing, only to be devoured by a demon. When a demon is starving, it will kill and devour even its own parents or siblings. Because they're nutrient-rich. I've seen that happen more times than I can count' The man thought deeply while Nezuko is running towards him with her pupils dilated, veins popping out, and her fangs showing 'This girl has been wounded, and she's expending energy to heal those injuries.'

Nezuko attack him while the man only dodge her with ease.

'She must've drained vast amounts of her strength as she transform into a demon. That means she's severely starved at this moment, without a doubt. She must've wanted to feast on a human right away, even if it's her own brother.... Yet, she protected him instead, and she even intimidated me...'

Nezuko jump against the trunk of a tree then kick it to give herself a boost as she head directly at the man. As she is nearing, the man only sheath his sword then karate chop her neck to knock her out.

'I wonder... These siblings might be.... Different from others' the man thought while looking at the unconscious Nezuko. 'But..... I can't say the same to their cousin. Having the demons remain their humanity a little bit is rare. And this is the first time a demon didn't devour someone but I can't be sure if she will remain her humanity even a little bit just like the other one. She's now dangerous. I must finish her before she wakes up'

But before he could unsheath his sword, he notice that she is already awake. Her injuries are already healed and only the blood stains remain on her ripped kimono. Y/N look at him with her now red demonic eyes. She didn't attack him and just look at him curiously. The girl look at her hands then at her feet then starts to wiggle it.
