Finding M&Ms and meeting new people

Within the blink of an eye, he was gone. I got up, took a shower, and while getting dressed, there was a knock on my door.

"Who is it?"

"It's me. Listen. Turn on the news."

"What happened?"

"Just turn on the news."

"New information about the bodies found in the car manufacturing plant on Washington Avenue. There is a confirmed count of 43 bodies. If anyone has any information about this, please contact the county police department at the number on your screen." I switched off the tv and finished getting dressed before meeting Bobby at his car.

"So what do we do now?"

"We check it out. It seems off. Caleb and Jim are going to head off, do their own thing while Rufus and I stay here."

"You two geezers going to be alright if I go help out the boys?"

"Go. If we need you we'll call you." I packed up my stuff, and off I went. Blackwater Ridge, Colorado, here I come.

I went up to the trailhead and stood there, observing.

"I have no clue where they went." I squatted and put my head into my hands. "Goddamn it, you two!" I suddenly noticed something small and blue from the gaps between my fingers. An M&M! "YES!" I cheered. I went on, following the bits of candy as they appeared until I stumbled upon a campsite. There were footprints, recent. Five people. Three wearing Hiking boots, one wearing Biker boots, the other wearing tennis shoes. The boys plus three others. I smiled. "SAMMY! SAMMY CAN YOU HEAR ME?" I called out. It was a minute before I heard a response.

"Lex?" He popped out of nowhere. "How did you get here so fast?"

"I drove, Dillweed." I joked, happy to see my best friend. "Where's your brother?"

"He's with Haley and Ben."

"Sam? Sam!"

"Relax, Dean, I'm right here."

"I'm here too, Shortie."

"Hey, Princess."

"Shortie? Princess? What kind of rangers are you?"

"The kind who are going to save your asses from being eaten. Now I've just driven 4 and a half hours to get here, so let's get moving. Boys, give me deets."

"The Wendigo has their brother Tommy."

"Well, shit. we have to get this show on the road then. Here." I handed each of them a can of hairspray and gave the three strangers lighters as well.

"Why do we need this stuff?"

"Fire's the only way to kill a Wendigo. Now, do you guys know what Wendigos are?"

"No."

"Lore states Wendigos are creatures who used to be human. They got stranded out in the middle of butt-fuck nowhere and turned to cannibalism to stay alive. Which that, unfortunately, turned them into monsters that can move super fast and are pretty much immortal, except for the fire thing. Any questions?"

"Have you hunted them before?"

"Yes. I don't know about the boys, but I've ganked 2 or 3 in my lifetime."

"So what do we do now? The sun's going down." The boy asked.

"We make camp. I saw a campsite back there we can use for the night."

"That's Tommy's camp."

"We have to use it. It's got some kind of shelter, and a fire pit we can use."

"What's your name?"

"Alex. Any other questions? No?"

"I'm Haley, this is my brother, Ben. and this is Roy. Our guide."

"It's nice to meet you all. Now, who wants to take first watch?"

"I'll take it." Dean offered. "Princess, you go get some sleep. You've had a long drive."

"I'm not sure I can sleep with a Wendigo creeping around, but I can certainly try."

A/N: Sorry, guys, I've been gone for a minute. My work is in danger of getting shut down because of poor management and between that, being understaffed, and looking for a new job, I haven't really had the energy to update.
