I hurried racing down the sidewalk out of breath. I had to catch up. This time I wouldn't let him get away.
My breathing was heavy and I could feel myself beginning to slow again.
"W-Wait!" I desperately gasped out.
But he was far too fast.
Not something my small legs could compete with. I should've known from the start this would never work. Taking in one last breath I dropped face-first into the ground lifting my hands up to keep my camera from breaking.
"Y/N!!! ARE YOU CRAZY!!" I could hear one of my friends screaming from behind me.
Turning my face slightly to the side I tried to intake as much air as possible.
"Are you alright??"
She ran towards me finally catching up and kneeling down to my level.
"Leave it come on Y/N... there was no way you were going to catch him." She mumbled taking the camera from my arms.
"I-I had to t-try," I said panting.
"A motorcycle you think you could've caught up with that??? Idiot!" She screamed smacking my head.
I let out a small yelp my breathing was finally back to normal but I was too tired to move.
"There's no way you'll get a picture of him. I think you should just give up and do another story."
"Come on Doctor you know I can't do that."
She only let out a sigh and shook her head. Grabbing onto the back of my collar she flung me over her shoulders. I laid there unable to do much as we made our way back to the school.
I was a part of the Photography club and was working as an apprentice at a newspaper office nearby.
I had been after him for weeks now.
A few months ago a mysterious man on a motorcycle appeared after saving a woman and taking down a huge drug organization. After that, he continued to help anyone in need. He became a bit of a myth, but I knew he was real. Considering I had just chased him down.
They said if you called out for him while in danger he'd appear before your eyes and whisk you away.
How romantic.
Unfortunately for me, things didn't go that way in the slightest.
Nobody knew why he was helping people, but they were all over it. He mainly appeared in the night, but sometimes you could catch him in the day if you were lucky. Girls were going crazy over him which helped to hype up the mystery.
The one thing everyone wanted to know...
What was under that mask?
And that's where my great idea had come in. If I were able to get a picture of what was underneath his mask the story would be a hit. It would be the beginning of my career as a journalist and I'd definitely make a huge deal of cash.
My eyes sparkled at the thought of how much money I could make. I'd have enough to buy a car or just a lot of food. I began drooling at the thought of food and quickly wiped my lips.
Sadly for the few weeks, I hadn't even got close to getting a picture of his face. I had chased after him several times but they all ended in failure.
"Y/N! Welcome back!" I could hear my other friend Swindler shout.
I glanced up slightly and sighed. Doctor had already arrived back at the photography club and now dropped me onto the ground. I let out a small groan and glanced up at the ceiling.
"Y/N, Doctor's right you need to give up... the boss is getting kind of impatient he told me to let you know that he wants a paper in by Wednesday."
My head shot up and I groaned again.
"Damnit this sucks..." I mumbled slamming my head back down.
"Listen I've got a lead to an interesting case if you want it." I shot my head back up a smile settling on my face.
"You always know how to save me, Swindler!" I said fake crying.
She rolled her eyes and tossed a piece of paper in my direction.
"You better figure this out. You've got two days so for now just focus on getting this done." Doctor said as I scanned over the paper.
A smirk grew on my lips and I nodded my head.
Time to bust some idiots!

Finally Ive go to making this book. I'm kind of excited hopefully it actually goes the way I want it too this time...
So I've also decided im going to make a few more Akudama Fanfics. Maybe one with Hacker or Brawler, but those will definitely be short.
