I stared at my trembling hands, still bundled in the stiff and tainted-red bed sheets. The past hour replayed over and over in my head. The door opened quietly, and Zack stopped breathing upon seeing me.

I cowered further into the sheets, “Stop,” I squeaked when he took a step in. “Go get Gen.”

He gulped and nodded. Gabriel thankfully sent out a group of demons to get Genesis, and I was beyond happy to have him back. Zack left, and the demon quickly stepped in. He frowned and paused at the foot of the bed.

“You remember Saint?” I asked lifelessly. The demon nodded. We told him everything about Saint in the past week that we’d been in Heaven. “He raped me.”

Gen’s eyes were black grapefruits, “He what?! Where is the piece of shit?! I’ll kill him!!”

“Gen-”

“No, Treble, please tell me.”

“Gen, he’s dead,” I blinked. “I killed him.”

Gen gulped. “Holy shit, Treble,” he shook his head and paced. “How, if you don’t mind my asking, did you kill him?”

“We’re in Taylor’s room. Taylor had a blade,” I shrugged. “So I killed him first chance.”

“Treble, sweetheart,” he sat next to me, and I pulled the covers up over my shoulders. Black tears rolled down his cheeks. “What can I do to help, Treble?”

“Clothes,” I said quietly. “And get Av. I gotta know he didn’t leave anything behind. And…I can’t tell Zack.”

“All right…but why’d you ask for me?”

“Because for the entire first part of it, he was Zack,” I gulped. “And I heard my fair share of disgusting whore and filthy slut. And I know it wasn’t him, but when he walked in, the words echoed in my head.”

Gen nodded, “I’ll get Av, first, okay?” I nodded. “Okay,” he sniffled, scrambling out of the bed. Zack stood on the other side of the door, and Gen nudged him back. “Let’s take a walk,” he said to my Empathizer. Zack gulped and followed, and the door shut.

Avalon stepped in with her hands over her mouth, “Treble,” she sat on a spot of the bed not drenched in Saint’s blood. “Are you okay?”

I shook my head, “I don’t want to be here.”

“We can go into another room,” she nodded quickly.

“No, Av, I mean I don’t want to be here,” I waved my hands around under the blankets. “Like, existing.”

She brushed my hair back behind my ears, “I’m so sorry.” And pity. Pity was what I got my whole life. And pity was what I didn’t want. I wanted sleep, and I almost wanted death, but I wanted Zack. At the same time, though, I didn’t want to see him for a long time. I didn’t want to risk hearing those words from him. “He didn’t leave anything.”

“Just emotional trauma and a shit-ton of bruises,” I sighed. “Bastard didn’t even leave my dignity.”

Gen stepped back in the room, handing me fresh clothes. “Can I guess he’s down the hall?” the demon pointed to the trail of dead feathers Saint left behind as I dragged his lifeless corpse into the bathroom. I nodded, and Gen disappeared down the hall. “Zack said to take your time.”

Av helped me get dressed, and I sighed as I brushed my hair back into a ponytail. “I think I’m going to puke,” I huffed.

“Do you want to come back to my room?” she asked quietly, getting me a bottle of salt water. I nodded, and took a swig. “Treble, why were you in Taylor’s room?”
