Charlie's POV

The two girls had stayed up about another hour after Owen had come into the room.

“Girls, time to get up, it’s September first. I made breakfast.” Felicity came in to wake the girls up. Charlie groaned at the interruption of her sleep as Mariah rolled over. Opening the blinds Charlie rolled to the other side of her bed. Mariah started rubbing her eyes, “Charlotte, you are going to be late.

“But it’s too early, and what does September have to do with anything?” Charlie asked, just as she went to roll over one more time, her mom stepped closer so she wouldn’t fall off the bed.

“Oh, I’ll let you figure it out. Just don’t forget your robes when you are running out the door.” Mariah sat up at the mention of robes.

“Wait, it’s today?” Getting the sleep out of her eyes, Charlie sat up, hair pointing in all directions.

“What’s for breakfast?” Charlie asked, ignoring Mariah’s question. Anyone who spent the night with Charlie knew her brain didn’t work until after either breakfast, or 11. Whichever came first.

“Guess you will just have to get up and see.” Felicity sent a smile to the two eleven year olds, before looking at Mariah, “Yes. And get ready, breakfast is getting cold.” With that Felicity left the girls to get ready.

Mariah started to get up and when Charlie saw her, she fell back in planning on a small nap. Just before she could pull the blanket over her eyes to protect her from the sun, Mariah caught her.

“Oh, not today sister!” Mariah spoke, ripping the blanket off the bed, Charlie groaned loudly, upset she was being exposed to the air so early into waking up. “I am not going to be late to the wizarding world because you wanted an extra five minutes of sleep. Like you said last night, sleep on the train!” Mariah said quickly, grabbing her clothes to change.

“And they call me the grumpy one.” Charlie mumbled as she tried rolling over again. Just as sleep almost took over again, she hit the floor. “Ow!” Mariah had pushed her off the bed.

“This is not happening today.” Mariah said, glaring at Charlie as she left the room, fully changed and ready for breakfast.

“UUUGGGHHH!” Charlie basically yelled as she sat up, throwing a pillow at the door Charlie got up. She slowly moved to her closet. “What do I wear?” she yelled, thinking to herself that sweatpants were probably frowned upon. Deciding she would figure it out after breakfast, she went downstairs.

Charlie got her breakfast and started eating before she even sat down. “Thank you.”  She said standing in the kitchen with her plate.

“Go sit down. And girls we are leaving in about thirty minutes. Be ready, ok?” Owen told the two. With two nods, he went to see what Sawyer was doing.

After getting breakfast and changing the girls were finishing up packing, they had packed the night before so now they were just doing dum-dum checks.

“Do you have the owl?” Charlie asked Mariah, Mariah had a purple stuffed animal she had with her.

“It’s a teddy bear. And no. I had her last night,” Mariah corrected Charlie.

“Oh, well I’m finished. It might have rolled under the bed next to the post.” Charlie told her before grabbing her book ‘Lord of the Rings’. When Mariah bent down to get a look under the bed, something stuck her in the hand.

“Ow!” when she looked it was a tac from Charlie’s posters. “Charlie!” Before standing up, Mariah saw her teddy bear and grabbed him, while she was distracted, Charlie booked it downstairs. “Seriously? That girl is going to be the death of me.” She said, before rolling her eyes and going downstairs.

“Mom! Sawyer!” Charlie yelled when she got downstairs. They came from different directions, but Charlie saw her mom first. “I’m going to miss you. I don’t understand why you can’t come to the train station with us.” Charlie said to her mom. They hugged for a minute or two before Felicity kissed her daughter’s head.

“Write me letters all the time. And don’t do anything too crazy. I don’t want you to get kicked out. Don’t get kicked out, you hear me?” Felicity spoke quickly, sad that her daughter was leaving for about a year. “I love your face off.” Squeezing her one more time, The mom let her daughter go before seeing Mariah come down the stairs.

Turning to her little brother, Charlie bent down and hugged him, he was getting bigger, but he was still smaller than she was at the moment.

“I’ll bring you back cool stuff ok? Don’t get killed without me, and have fun at school.” Charlie told her brother, copying her mom with the rambling. “ I love you, Saw.” She told him, they squeezed each other, each one trying to hug the other tighter before letting go and doing their secret handshake.

After saying goodbye, Charlie, Mariah, and Owen went to the car to get ready to go to the train station.

“Love you, I’ll be back a little after lunch.” Owen said, closing the front door and locking it as the girls rushed to the car.

“I’ll get buckled first!” Charlie yelled to Mariah.

The two girls, buckled into the car, headed to King’s Cross Station ready for their lives to change.
