Chapter 26

Harry didn't disappoint, they do say things happen in threes and before leaving the charity party, being slightly tipsy after the amount champagne that kept randomly appearing on the tables; Harry was feeling relaxed in body and tongue. After the two embarrassing episodes which in Harry's defence she kind of knew was going to happen, she had tried to remain silent knowing full well at any point in time she was likely to embarrass herself and Jason again. The evening was coming to a close and the guests were starting to disperse and some like Harry had taken full advantage of the free alcohol. Jason stood first from the table he seemed to be in full charge of himself and clearly had been in control of what he was drinking, 'thank god' Harry thought she was going to need a steady arm to walk out with the little dignity she had left. By no means was she drunk drunk but her legs definitely knew she had a few. Just as they stood from the table, Harry recognised her instantly as Kate Winslet strolled by with a plus one that Harry didn't recognise. Jason and Kate greet each other and said goodbye at the same time, not recognising that Kate wasn't quite out of ear shot, and in a rather loud voice, which was intended to be a whisper, Harry leant right up to Jason, "there was enough room on that bloody door for two you know! Never understood how she got away..." Before Harry could finish Jason planted a kiss on her lips taking her breath and her voice away. Which tomorrow, Harry knew she would be grateful for, guess this was going to be the last social event she ever goes to again.

Jason escorted Harry out, she clung to him for steadiness willing her feet and legs were a little more coordinated, thank God there had been no dancing, heaven knows what she might have started doing, some kind of 80s worm across the floor. At that thought Harry giggled to herself.

Swiftly and quickly Harry found herself in the car. Harry must have dozed off as soon as her head laid on Jason's shoulder, as before she knew it they had arrived home and Jason was trying to extract her from the car it wasn't the most elegant process to begin with until Harry roused enough to be walked up the steps to the front door, it was then once inside Harry had the most uncomfortable nauseas feeling, she turned to Jason who when in the light he had never seen anyone quite that colour of grey green before, "I think I need to call God?" Harry muttered.

It took a moment for Jason to understand but when he did, he whisked up in his arms and to the nearest bathroom, where Harry did indeed call God down the great white telephone, while Jason did the most wonderful, perfect thing ever and held her hair back and rubbed her back. Jason waited until she had finished before soaking a flannel in cold water and washing her face. "You ok?" Jason asked as he flushed the toilet and sat on the floor next to her.

"Yeah, just re-evaluating my belief in religion. Not to mention I am never drinking again!"

Jason smiled, "yeah ok, bed for you!" He stood from the floor and helped Harry to her feet, Harry allowed Jason to guide her to bed and with a quickness and dexterity of a ninja she was out of her dress and in one of his t-shirts, soon to be dribbling most inelegant on her pillow.

The next morning, Harry woke to a heavy fog clouding her brain, the headache she anticipated wasn't as bad as she thought it should have been or deserved. Harry opened one eye first tentatively checking out if it was safe to open both. It was. There was no sign of Jason, Harry wasn't sure if she was relieved or disappointed going by how she thought she looked it was probably a blessing, long black streaks of mascara was never a good look. As for her breath well nothing would live if she breathed on them. She turned her head and on the table there was a handwritten note, a glass of water, a glass of orange juice and what looked like paracetamol. Harry unashamedly downed the water before taking the tablets and finishing off the juice. It was when the flashbacks started that really made her cringe and place a pillow over her head, knowing that they were going to be coming and going all day at random times. Why couldn't she just have flashbacks or her being marvellously witty and a hilarious success instead of the all the embarrassing things she had said and did. Harry read the note
