"At talagang in-Indian mo ako kahapon?" Blaze asked, leaning against the table. He didn't look disappointed naman, but he looks like he's about to rant while my eyes were focused on the monitor screen of my laptop. "You didn't even tell me the reason why you couldn't come?" parang bigla siyang nagkaroon ng hinanakit habang tinatanong 'yun. I just continued typing, hindi ko siya tinuonan ng atensyon. "Shannaiah!" he called out loud. Nilingon ko naman siya, walang emosyon.
"What?" I asked,
"What's with the coldness?" he asked, "Sinugod ka ba ulit ng pinsan mo?"
"My cousin won't do that again to me." I assured, though I wasn't certain about that. It sounds like I was just convincing myself,
"That doesn't sound like the way it should be." He answered, "Then why didn't you come yesterday?"
Dummy, I came. I came but you didn't tell me that you were on a date! Hirap sa mga lalaki, it's easy for them to show motives and at the end, they were still able to date multiple girls---wait, what?! What the hell are you saying, Shanice?!
"Uh, you had problems with Aizren?" he asked as if he really knew where I was coming from. "You took my advice seriously, huh? I just stated my opinion and what I could see in your situations. You should've still asked them to confirm my hunches." He said, hindi ako umimik. I continued typing the last sentence.
"Done," I said.
"Huh? Anong tapos?" he asked,
"Here's your flash drive. I pasted the document there, pwede mo nang ipasa kay Prof. Han 'yan." Walang gana kong sabi,
"What?!" he asked, "You're finished? Just wow, Shannaiah---"
"When the hell are you going to stop calling me that?!" I raised my voice,
"You're finished? You're so unfair, Shanice!" naiinis na sabi niya, but he couldn't raise his voice. "How about me? I did my best to contact the Veronimos to have some information, tapos tapos ka na pala?"
"Yeah, just go. You can add the infos you got from them." I said, "You can now go. Ikaw na ang bahala," I glared at him nang mapansin kong ayaw niyang tumayo. "GO!"
"I won't we're still not don---shit!" he whispered when his phone rang. Saved by the fucking bell. Mabuti na lang may tumawag sa kanya.
Lumayo na siya at lumabas ng cafeteria para sagutin ang call. Sakto namang napansin ko si Mom na palapit sa akin, she's with Coach Dwayne. I stood up when they reached my table. Naupo sila sa tapat ko.
"Why do you want to talk to me?" Coach asked, looking at me.
"Remove her name from the list." Mom said coldly,
"What?!" Coach asked, then he looked at me.
"Alisin mo siya sa team. She will no longer join the team," Mom said,
"Why? You signed the waiver, Shanel." Mukhang ayaw ni coach na paalisin ako sa team.
"Yeah, but she chose something over volleyball that's why she couldn't continue anymore." Mom answered, she even raised her brow.
"Sayang, magaling pa naman ang anak mo. Nakikita kita sa kanya, the way your passion flares up when you're playing---" I saw Mom nudged him, nanlaki naman ang mga mata ko.
"You played volleyball before, Mom?" I asked, Coach avoided my gaze while Mom remained looking at me. She refused to answer me so I just sighed and gave up.
