Sam and Max: The mystery of the third

Chapter 1: A not so fine douche at the park

Sam and Max had just gotten back from a false alarm. Apparently, the commissioner had gotten a call from a jealous ex that their ex-girlfriend had been kidnapped.

And so Sam and Max had gotten a call from the commissioner after they had fought to answer it, as always Sam had won. However, this time he had managed to topple Max over and was sitting on his back answering the call. After both, he and Max had stood up Max asked "Was it the commissioner?" To which Sam answered, "He had the same disgruntled tone as the commissioner, so I would only assume that it is the commissioner." "Sam, please never say 'disgruntled' again and talk like a normal person." Max said in a disgruntled tone himself, "You crack me up, little buddy!" Sam said as joyful as ever.

And so after that, they had gone to Shep McOws Burger parlour for lunch, "You know, as disturbing as it is to know that the owner serves up his own kinda, ya gotta admit he can make one mean burger." Max said as the silent ambience of the diner was starting to make him bored. "You aren't wrong, little buddy, you aren't wrong." After he had finished Max had run out the door, which left Sam to pay for it.

As they had arrived at the place where the supposed kidnapping was happening all they could see was a park where couples were going out on dates, children were playing with their parents and each other, and people taking their dogs on walks (which made Sam very confused).

Yet when they started to wander around the park, Max started to feel an emotion he hadn't felt for a long time, sadness. Sam had noticed the sadness radiating off of Max but before he could ask Max what the matter was they heard whispering from the bushes.

They looked down at the bush that was near them, and from it, out popped a man. He started to talk to the pair "Oh thank god your here, although when I talked to the guy on the phone he said there would be two of you. And why you brought your son with you I have no idea." At that comment Max got... Mad. He hated the fact that sometimes people thought he was Sam's kid just because he was shorter and more erratic. "Eh, but Max isn't my kid, he's my colleague." Sam said honestly confused as to why anyone would think that they're biologically related, I mean they don't even look alike. "Oh then why isn't he wearing the proper uniform, he looks really unprofessional." at this point Max was ready to straight up end this guy, but contrary to popular belief he did have some self-control, he knew that if someone's life really was in danger that they would have to save that person, and then Max could murder the douchebag. "Huh, I can't see anyone who's been kidnapped." Sam said as confusion was just piling up on him. "What!? How can you not!? She's sitting in that boat!" He then pointed at a boat but all that was in the boat was a woman and man who looked very happy and utterly in love. "Hmm, I don't see it, all I can see is a man and woman enjoying their date..." It slowly began to dawn on Max that the guy just wasted their time, and he more and more wanted to kill that guy. "If what you're saying is true then she must be insane, I did so much more for her! But you know what I think you're wrong, and an idiot for not realizing it!" That was the final nail on the coffin, as Max was basically beating him to death for not only wasting their time, insulting both him and Sam, and for indirectly making him feel complicated emotions like sadness... and loneliness.

And so after he was done, he and Sam went back to their place of work, but now all he was feeling was sadness, "Hey Sam, I'm going to go home." Sam, of course, didn't mind as he was astute, it was one of the thing's that got him the job he has. "Sure little buddy." And with that Max had started to make his way to his apartment, his small, miserable apartment. All he could think about was how it would be to have a significant other, yet he'd never even had a crush on anyone before and to his knowledge he never will.
