the room was dark, no light peering from any crack in the wood or from the circular window that hovered over the beds. a short brunette hybrid thumbled with blankets that werent his own, trying to shaking some lanky blonde awake. he seemed desperate to wake up the boy, gripping tightly onto his arm. "tomsss!! wake up!" he groaned, hands falling to his sides with visible frustration.
it was a regular tuesday morning, roughly 4:30am. tubbo had wanted to go outside to watch the sunrise in a tree with tommy, and have ranboo miss out because he fell asleep during the last one they did as a trio. but he was struggling to wake up the oldest, who was sleeping heavily in his own bed.
tubbo had enough, stretching his arms up to locate a hard-covered journal that sat on the edge of his bed. feeling its leathery cover, he ripped it off of the bed and positioned it over his blonde friends head. the brunette raised the book slowly, harshly landing a hit onto tommy's forehead. successful, yes! but the highland cow hybrid didnt think of the reaction his friend would have.
what tubbo didnt expect was for tommy to jolt upwards from the bed. his head slammed against the top bunk of the bed, whipping around to stare at the brunette with a sharp gaze and a hand on his face. his ears flattened. "what the fuck??" the tanuki snapped, face growing a frown and brows knitting together. "what was that for? its not even sunny outside!"
"be quiet, boo is sleeping!!" tubbo hushed tommy, putting the book down. he began bouncing with excitement, instantly pulling the blonde from the bunk bed. he reached for his cane, speedily walking through the hall towards the cottage door, navigating haphazardly with the cane. as soon as he opened the door, tubbo shoved tommy outside, who almost fell in the process. straight after, tubbo walked out and slammed the door shut.
"tubbo, its almost five in the morning! why the hell are we out here again?" tommy muttered, tail waving impatiently with crossed arms. he wanted to know why his roommate had just dragged him outside, and why he was being forced awake at such an early time. tubbo only smiled cheekily, pointing to a tall elm tree near the olive green 1970's styled van. tommy then sighed, remembering their conversation from the other night.
...
"tubster, what'cha thinkin' about?" tommy questioned, head lying on top of the highland cows moppy hair. his arms clung tightly around the shorter, staring at the vintage-looking images he held. tubbo was sifting through old photos of trees and pretty flowers, smiling fondly at the cardstock images. he acknowledged the blonde with a shrug, nose twitching.
"thinking about trees, i want to watch the sunrise again with you and boo, but hes just gonna fall asleep again." the brunette hummed, leaning into his friends touch casually. they did this when it was a bit later in the night, simple cuddles and closeness was nice when it was quiet in the house.
"well, how about tomorrow morning? 4:30 sharp?" the blonde asked, tubbo's head whipping around to look at him. the highland cow nodded happily, sliding the photos away and quickly bouncing onto his hooves. this made the brunette excited for the next day, him immediately rushing to the bedroom and climbing swiftly into his bed. tubbo threw his blanket over his body, and shoved his head under the pillow he had. soft snores were then heard from the bed. the brunette fell asleep.
