BRIAR ARGENT has always thought that her life sucked big time. Her mother is a sociopath who killed most of the Hales. Her aunt almost killed one of her best friends. Finally her grandfather was more sociopathic than her mother, by almost killing her cousin.
But she's always had her uncle Chris and Allison to always cheer her up when she was down about her life.
Briars life then took a 180 with Allison dying because she figured out how to kill one of the Oni. Her uncle went to France and took Issac with him. While Briar stayed with her friend, Scott McCall.
Melissa didn't care that she stayed there but Briar always felt like she was burdening them by staying there.
When Chris left Scott promised to keep an eye on her and what does he do? He goes to Mexico with the rest of the pack without Briar. She had begged and begged to go but he said no and it wasn't safe.
Things in her life go up and she begins to think her life isn't as fatal as she thought it was when she meets another freshman, Liam Dunbar.
But then she finds out her friends lied to her about her mother being alive all this time.
