Chapter 28

It was Alec and Lydia's wedding day, everyone was happy that a marriage would take place at the Institute, it was a break from all the stress and anxiousness they felt since the return of Valentine. I would have been happy too, if it wasn't Alec's marriage to another woman. I had almost finished packing all of my stuff, when Izzy and Magnus came into my room.

"Hey Mag, how are you?" I hugged him.

"I'm fine, but we don't care about that do we? I heard from a little bird that you're leaving." He gave me a disapproving gaze.

And I looked at Izzy." Seriously?"

"It was him or Clary, and you told me that you don't want her to know." She shrugged." Anyway I've bought you a dress if you decide to come to Alec's wedding." She opened the bag where the dress was kept.

I gasped." Oh my god Izzy, it's gorgeous."It was a long strapless navy blue formal dress with a v neck.

"I know, that's why I choose it." She smiled.

"But I can't wear it." I said and they're smiles dropped." I can't go see my soulmate getting married to someone else, I'm sorry." Magnus and Izzy looked at each other and nodded.

"We understand." Izzy told me and they both hugged me." Have a nice trip and call me when you arrive."

They walked to the door and Izzy left first, Magnus faced me." I know you made your choice, but I think that you should let him know, he has the right to know. Goodbye Emilia." And he left closing the door behind him, leaving me alone.

I looked at the envelopes that were next to me. I had written two letters, one to Clary and another to Alec and Lydia, telling them that I was happy for both of them, and that I hoped that they would have a beautiful future together. Of course it was a lie.

What should I do?, I don't really want to leave and I don't want to lose Alec forever. Magnus is right, even if he breaks my heart again, he needs to know what he is to me and I'm gonna try one last time.

I dressed in the beautiful dress Izzy brought, once in front of the closed doors of the ceremony I took one breath.

"Here goes nothing." I opened the door and a slam was heard and I walked the short hallway.

I freezed at the entrance of the ceremony, I could feel every guest's stare on me but the only person I could concentrate on was Alec who stood in the altar.

Our eyes found each other and my breath got stuck in my throat, Alec was dressed in elegant white suit, it fitted him perfectly well, only adding to his perfect visuals.

No one's POV

"What's that Angelwitch doing here?" Maryse Lightwood asked her husband and  Hodge.

In the altar Isabelle sighed relieved.

"Izzy." Jace called her whispering." Did Alec invite Emilia?"

"I did." She chuckled." But I didn't think she'd show."

Maryse stood up from her sit and walked Emilia's way.

"Emilia, leave this wedding now." She said stiffly, she didn't want any more drama associated to her family.

Back to Emilia's POV

"Maryse, this is between me and your son. I'll leave if he asks me to." I told her stepping ahead and without stopping the eye contact with Alec.

He broke it first and talked with Lydia, but I couldn't hear anything. He looked stressed and I was getting more nervous by the second but I didn't let it show.

After a few seconds Alec faced me completely and looked at all the guests before posing them finally to me, my heart skipped a few beats, when he started moving towards me.

Maryse walked to her son getting mad." Alec, what are you doing?"

"Enough." He responded passing her like I did.

When he arrived next to me, he took my face and kissed me, which I responded instantly putting one of my hands on his neck to deepen the kiss and the other in his hair.

The kiss was passionate, I could feel every emotion he felt and I poured as much, so he could feel mines too. The tingles were as strong as ever and I could feel the bond more than before, it was like we finally became one. Not only I could feel his emotions in the kiss but I could feel them too in my head, like they were mine.

We separated slightly, but we couldn't get enough and we kissed again completely forgetting where we were and all the people there. We heard gasps and slowly we separated from each other sighing and looked around.

"You always find a way to surprise me." I spoke.

"Yeah... What did I just do?"

All the guests were staring above us, and we did too. Upon us was what looked to be a red rune, Alec gasped too. The rune had two circles that were united by some designs, it looked like a ring.

"What?, what is it?" I asked.

Jace that was still in the altar walked to us." This is the soulmate rune, it's rare we all thought it was a myth." He says still looking at it.

I faced Alec." Alec, you're my soulmate, you've always been, and you'll always be." I took his hand in mine and touched the rune, it shined brightly and we closed our eyes.

Few seconds after I opened my eyes and I thought the rune had disappeared,but it was drawn in both Alec and I's left ring finger, all the guests were shocked but clapped, I guess they were not expecting this.

"Alec, I am so proud of you." Izzy said.

"So am I, Emilia, you're mother would be proud." Magnus told me, before walking away.

Simon appeared and I hugged him.
" Simooon, I missed you." He hugged back.

"Guys, that was incredible." He said exited." It was like watching the live if the Graduate. Well without the mate thing but you know the Fustin Hoffman movie?. The amazing one?"

"You mean the one I always put you and Clary when you were 9?" I asked and he nodded still existed.

"You were Ben. "Elaine."!" He pointed me the Alec." And you were Elaine. I mean taller, masculine, handsome version of her. But the altar, though, you were like "Ben" and then...and then now you're both sitting on the bus at the end of the movie,both totally stoked, but wondering, like... "what are we gonna do now?" You know?" He smiled and I nodded.

"Who invited the vampire?" Alec asked not at all amused. I slightly slapped his bicep.

"Seriously?"
