Evangeline's POV
My name is Evangeline Celeste Rosier, but everyone outside of Slytherin knows me as Evangeline Prewett. I am in Slytherin house like my father was. He raped my mother during the first wizarding war and I was a result. Most would of cast me away. But my mother loves me with her whole heart. She has never condemned me for my father's actions or for being in Slytherin like him. Instead of Gryffindor like her.
Anyway it's only my first year. I am in the same year as the famous Harry potter and my cousin Ron Weasley. Our mothers are cousins, which makes us second cousins. Ron hates that I am in Slytherin, but the twins think it is a great laugh. Percy is Percy and does not care what house I am in. I don't know about the other three Weasley children.
I was hanging out in a tree alone and notice Harry heading for the lake alone. "Don't let Draco bother you" I tell him. As I hang upside down facing him. He looks at me startled.
"You're a slytherin" he states.
"Don't tell me you think all Slytherins are as bratty as Draco Malfoy" I say as I sit up.
"Maybe" he says surprised as I jump down.
"We're not as different as you think Harry Potter" I tell him. "We are a lot alike you and I. In some things we are the same" I state.
"You think we're the same? No, I don't thinks so" he tells me.
"You think that life is one big game
You joke, you laugh, you take no blame
I'm telling you, there's just no way that we're the same" he sings and I smirk.
"You've got to look past what you see
Try not to judge so easily
Believe it or not, you're a lot like me
Said believe it or not, you're a lot like me" I sing as I walk around him. I head for the lake and he follows as I continue to sing. "Sisi ni sawa means we're the same" I sing.
"Sisi ni sawa" I hear the mermaids echo under water and smile.
"I hear what you're saying, but you need to explain" Harry tells me.
"Sisi ni sawa" the mermaids sing again.
"At the end of the day, it's like water and rain
Sisi ni sawa, we are the same" I sing as I look at our reflections in the surface of the lake.
"Maybe I laugh at somthing and you don't
But take a look under the skin
Deep in our heart is what matters for sure" I sing.
"Sisi ni sawa!" the mermaids sing.
"Cause we both know a higher call
Like every wand big and small
Magic should be what's guiding us all
Magic will guide us all
Sisi ni sawa means we're the same!" I sing.
"Sisi ni sawa" the mermaids sing.
"Though you've got your snake, and I have a lion" Harry sings.
"Sisi ni sawa" the mermaids sing.
"At the end of the day, it's like water and rain
Sisi ni sawa, we are the same" I sing.
"Sisi ni sawa, we are the same" we sing together. As we head to the dock. We walk along it.
"Never thought that we'd see eye-to-eye" Harry sings smiling at me.
"I can't imagine why
It's very easy if you try!" I sing loudly.
"Sisi ni sawa" the mermaids sing.
"Still, to me, they're brand new thoughts
Not to judge Slytherins by their robes" Harry sings.
"Sisi ni sawa
Sisi ni sawa means we're the same" I sing.
"Forget about the past
When there's nothing to gain" Harry sings.
"Sisi ni sawa" the mermaids sing.
"At the end of the day, it's like water and rain
Sisi ni sawa, we are the same" Harry and I sing together.
"Sisi ni sawa!" the Mermaids sing.
"Sisi ni sawa means we're the same" I sing with Harry.
"Sisi ni sawa!" the mermaids sing.
"Forget about the past
When there's nothing to gain" Harry and I sing together.
"Sisi ni sawa" the mermaids sing.
"At the end of the day, it's like water and rain
Sisi ni sawa, we are the same" Harry and I sing.
"Sisi ni sawa!" the mermaids sing.
"Sisi ni sawa, we are the same" I finish lowly. "I hope you learnt your lesson Harry, please tell my cousins the Weasleys I say hello" I tell him and go to leave.
"Wait, can we be friends?" he asks me hopeful.
"But I'm a slytherin" I remind him with a smile.
"I know, but you're different from the other slytherins. I can tell" he states.
"We shall see" I tell him. "Now I must go study" I state and leave. As I enter the castle I am pulled into an empty classroom. I see Draco with Crabbe and Goyle. "Can I help you Draco?" I ask in a bored tone.
"I saw you with Potter by the lake, what were you doing?" he demands.
"Not that it is any of your concern, but I was extending the hand of friendship" I tell him.
"And did he accept?" he asks me.
"What does it matter?" I ask him.
"It mutters because he is in gryffindor and you would be in a good position to spy for us" he tells me smirking.
"Why would I spy for you?" I sneer.
"I know who your father is, if his brother were to discover his niece was a blood traitor. He'd treat you the same way your father treated your mother" he tells me.
"Leave my mother out of this Malfoy" I snap glaring at him.
"Then you will spy for us or suffer the consequences" he tells me.
"Fine" I sneer.
"Good girl" he says stroking my cheek and I turn my head away from him. "Don't speak of this encounter with anyone" he tells me. Before leaving with his goons.
I sit on a chair sighing in defeat. Why do I have to be such a coward? No wonder I was not placed in Gryffindor. Please forgive me mother for what I must do to survive. And please don't hate me Harry.
