Part 8

Breezy & Thayne Friday Dec. 6th @ 4pm

Breezy's POV

Just like every other day this week, when I was done with school Thayne was outside, waiting by his car to greet me. I light up like Christmas morning seeing him. This was the best part of my school day!

"Breezy... Who is this guy?" My best friend Melinda asked.

"My boyfriend!" I answered as I picked up the pace to get to him.

"What do you mean your boyfriend? Where did you meet him? How would you meet someone out of high school?" She was firing off questions and I had no time for this.

I turned to Melinda and gave her my answer. "It doesn't matter how or where we met. He treats me better than any guy at this hell hole we call school. Just be happy for me ok?"

"Fine, but this is Senior year. We have Prom this year and project graduation and college applications to fill out. Just remember, a college guy is less likely to want to attend all those "silly high school functions"." And yes she used air quotes when she said that.

"Melinda, it is the beginning of December. You are talking about things that will take place at the end of the school year. Do you know how many high school relationships will come and go in the next six months? Why are you so worried about me?"

She looked hurt. "It doesn't matter." She turned and walked away to her car. This conversation frustrated me and I might have stomped my way toward Thayne. He was chuckling by the time I got to him.

Thayne kissed me sweetly on the lips and opened my door for me, then got in on the drivers side. I asked, "why are you laughing at me?" With a little pout on my face.

"None of that Luv." He stroked my cheek with his fingers then combed his fingers through my hair. I relaxed back into the seat, closing my eyes at his sweet touch. "What were you upset about with your friend?"

"She was asking all kinds of questions about you and telling me that you wouldn't want to do any of the "silly high school function" things with me. I told her that the things she is talking about are six months away. Then I asked her why she was worried about me. She replied it doesn't matter and walked away. She has been my best friend since we moved here and she is being all weird lately."

"Does she have a boyfriend?"

"No, why? Are you going to ask her out?" I asked all insecure.

He chuckled again, "no! I was just trying to figure out where her thought process is coming from. Has she ever had a boyfriend?"

"Yes. She usually has a boyfriend. When it ends, she will have a new boyfriend within two months."

"When did her last relationship end?"

I thought about it before answering, "she and her boyfriend ended their relationship just after homecoming. That was the first weekend of October."

"So she is due for a new boyfriend about now. Breezy, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to or give me details or anything, but have you had lots of boyfriends yourself?"

"No. I have had two boyfriends and both of them were only for about 2 months. High school boys are not very patient."

He looked at me, studying my face for a moment before turning back to driving. "I think your friend is jealous." He plainly stated.

"What?" I asked.

"You have me in your life, showing you attention, and she doesn't."

"Huh! You might be right. Well, I'll give her some space to work through it."

Thayne smiled at me then asked, "would it be ok with you if we went out on a date tonight?"

I was giddy, " of course it's ok. It's better than ok." I began bouncing in my seat.

"Before you get too excited, are you ok with it being a double date with Cannon and Star?"

"I don't mind, but they might not want to hang out with a high schooler." We got to my house. Thayne took my bag and walked me into my house where we sat on the couch together. I sat sideways with my back against the side of the couch and my legs over his.

"Cannon doesn't mind that you are in school. He wants to get to know Star better, but she has been so busy working lately, he hasn't had much time to talk to her. I think we are the buffer in case they don't have anything to talk about." He smiled, flashing his beautiful white teeth at me.

"That's just silly! Star is very interesting and I can only guess Cannon is too." I shook my head, not understanding how they wouldn't have anything to talk about. "So, what are we doing anyway?"

"First, we are going to go to the Aquarium, then we are going to go out to eat. That is as long as you are ok with that plan."

"It sounds wonderful. You know, as long as I have lived here, I have never been to the aquarium. What time are we leaving?" I was giggling at how excited I was to go out on our first official date. Yes we have hung out together everyday after school, and we have shared some passionate kisses, but an actual date sounds amazing.

"We need to leave in an hour. We will meet Star and Cannon at the Aquarium." I nodded and took an assessment of my clothes. I was in a plaid shirt and jeans. Yea, not what I am wearing on my first date.

I hung out with Thayne for a half an hour just kissing and enjoying him holding me, then I gave him the TV remote while I went to change clothes. I realized he was wearing a pair of low cut, straight leg dark blue jeans with artful wear marks on them. His shirt was a long sleeve button down in a charcoal grey color and on the couch was a black leather biker jacket.

I freshened up my makeup in the bathroom and then went to put my clothes on. I put on a pair of skinny jeans, a white cami (no bra because the cami had a built in one) top, and a cream colored lace drawstring top. It has 6 buttons on the front and I only have the bottom two done up, and the drawstring was tied in front at the waist. I put on some medium silver hoop earrings, my black knee height boots, and my black leather jacket.

When I came out of my bedroom, Thayne stood up and crossed the room to me in 3 long strides. "If God made anything more beautiful than you, I'm sure he'd keep it for himself."

I giggled at Thayne but his eyes were searing into mine like laser beams. "Did you just use a pickup line on me?"

"Maybe, but Wow Breezy! You are walking proof that angels do exist." He leaned in and kissed my lips gently. He walked me back two steps and I felt the wall at my back. He leaned his body into mine and I loved how close we were. Thayne was still a gentleman by keeping his hands firmly on my hips and only kissing my lips.

When he ended the kiss, Thayne took my hand in his and walked me out to his car for our date. Our first date!
