I guess I have no choice, I have to do this. Maybe I can start my journey and find a loop hole! For now that's all I can really do.
I walked further into the town. It's late afternoon, but no ones out. Then again there's only four houses. Well, four houses and a giant, stand out-ish lab. Guess I know where I'm heading.
I was overcome with excitement as I took off in a run towards the lab. A new Pokemon, just for me! I won't have to face any gym leaders for a while, so I'll forget about my job until then!
I arrived at the huge door. Though I had only run about 30 metres, I was out of breath. Once I regained my breath, I nervously knocked on the door. Almost immediately, a man opened the door. His brown hair was a disaster as if he hadn't slept with days, his huge glasses were dirty, and his long lab coat was stained with whatever he had spilled on himself.
"Oh, hello, are you Emilia? Professor Acacia has been eagerly waiting for you." He said, his voice scratchy and strained. "Come on in." He led me on to the giant, dimly lit lab. Scientists were scattered around, some trying to do up to five things at once. He led me down the long hallway with a countless amount of rooms branching off from it. At the end of the hallway was a huge room, extremely bright in comparison to the rest of the lab.
There was a woman waiting in the bright room. Despite looking like she hadn't slept in days, her teal hair was kept nearly in a ponytail, and her green eyes were bright with enthusiasm.
"Oh, you must be E-emilia! Hi, I'm professor Acacia! I've missed y-- I mean, I'm so happy to meet you!" She said, shaking my hand vigorously. She weirded me out, but there was something about her that was comforting to me. I think it's... Her eyes... There's something about them that fills me with happiness. It's probably the fact that she's the person who's going to give me my first Pokemon!
"Hi, Professor Acacia!" I said, flashing a toothy grin.
"I suppose you want your Pokemon? Well, come with me!" She led me to a table in the back of the room. On it were nineteen Pokemon. If I remember correctly from the book I got on my birthday, the Pokemon are Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Cyndaquil, Chikorita, Totodile, Torchic, Treecko, Mudkip, Piplup, Chimchar, Turtwig, Tepig, Oshawott, Snivy, Fennekin, Froakie, and Chespin. So many...
"So many to choose from..." I mumbled.
"Yeah, that's the good thing about the Kimandra region!" Professor Acacia exclaimed.
"If I remember correctly from the ladies at the daycare, my mom had a Turtwig as her starter. I'll get Turtwig to honour my mom!" I exclaimed, picking up Turtwig and his Pokeball. Professor Acacia stared at me, almost in disbelief, the started smiling like an idiot again. I never thought anyone could be this happy.
"Good idea! Turtwig sure is a really cute Pokemon!" Professor Acacia said. "Well what are you waiting for...? You should get going, have the best adventure you can...!" She said, getting sad. Was she getting sad that I'm leaving? Odd...
"Why are you sad that I'm leaving?" I inquired.
"O-oh, I rarely get visitors, so I always get sad when company leaves!" She stuttered.
"Oh, okay!" I replied. "Well, I'll make sure to visit you every so often!"
"Really?" She said in disbelief. "Thanks!"
"No problem!" I said before darting out of the lab. My own Pokemon! My own journey!
... My own compromise...
