You hated this place. You hate the people, you hate the building, you hate the things in the building...

But the thing you hated most, is the machine that tortured you into the way you are now.

You thought, at first, that it was a regular 'torture you until you go insane' machine, but as the time went on you realized it was different.

Some days you were fine. Others, well, you became dependent. Dependent on the horrid people to feed you, to put you to bed; to take care of you. The most horrendous and embarrassing of all: you became dependent on diapers. And because the people were horrible to you, you were starving most of the time, you were always dehydrated, and you have the worst rash on your bottom and privates because they barely changed your diapers.

You had learnt to leave your diaper on and to stop complaining about it, for every time you did you were punished. And those punishments hurt you enough that you learnt that rule quickly. That didn't stop you from whimpering quietly every night, curled up as much as possible in the furthest corner of the room. Furthest from the door that separated you and the mean people.

You stopped asking yourself when you'd be rescued. You stopped calling out for your mommy or daddy, remembering that horrid night.

September 9th 2011

They had broken down the front door, at least 10 armed people entered and immediately went and began to restrain your family, tying hands together and gagging everyone including you.

Bad day to have everyone there.

After everyone was restrained, a man entered. He scanned all your family members with his eyes, and up until this point you had been doing as told. However, when he went to grab your just-turned-10 year old brother, you began to try to break free. That caught the man's attention, leaving your brother alone and moving to stand in front of you. You cowered a bit, as he was pretty intimidating.

"I want this one, kill the rest." The man said, your eyes widening as you heard the muffled screams and cries of your family. Then with multiple gun shots, it was quiet aside from your crying.

*back to present

Your whimpering got quieter, hearing the familiar sounds of the heavy boots hitting the floor with each step the mean man took. While the footsteps sounded slightly different, you didn't notice, too busy trying - but failing - to calm down.

When you heard the door open, your eyes screwed shut in anticipation of another beating for whimpering. To your complete surprise, the voice was one you've never heard before and didn't sound mean.

"I found a hostage, (y/g), looks between 21 and 25 years old." You opened one of your eyes, curious to know what the man looked like. "I'm here to save you, can you tell me your name?" He asked and you shrugged, not exactly remembering.

"Cap, Nat found an explosive. We can talk to them on the plane, we gotta get out of here." Another man said, appearing at the side of the other man.

"Thanks Barton. Can you walk, or can I carry you?" 'Cap' said, walking towards you. You flinched when he moved to pick you up bridal style. "It's okay, I'm going to help you." While you'd rather not go with the unknown men, you didn't have a choice as he picked you up and began walking towards the closest exit.

"Lemme go," You whispered, trying to get out of his grip when you saw more people by an aircraft. "P'ease lemme go, I no wan' go."

"We're going to help, it's okay." The man not carrying you said. You shook your head.

"No help, no' poss-poss-" You stuttered, not remembering how to pronounce the word you were thinking.

"Not possible?" The man carrying you asked and you nodded. "We'll find a way to make it possible, you just have to trust us."

While you disagreed with him, you still had no choice as the three of you got on the plane, four other new people looking at you. You felt your face heat up, turning into the man holding you in embarrassment.

"What did they do..." A female voice asked, you curled up more.

"We don't know-" A loud exploding noise cut the man off, you fell out of the man's arms. You felt searing pain in your head for a moment before you blacked out.

Time skip to being at the tower

You woke up, looked around the room and slowly sat up when you realized you were alone. The room reminded you of the room you always received the most pain in. That thought made you scared.

Jumping when the door opened suddenly, you moved as far back on the bed as you could.

"Don't be scared, I told you we were going to help you." It was the man that had carried you.

"No help, too long." You said, curling up. You looked down, noticing how your bum didn't hurt when you moved.

"Does it feel better?" He asked and you nodded, looking back up. "Do you remember your name yet? Or at least how old you are?"

"Um...t'ree I t'ink, my name coul' be (y/n), all I 'member." You said quietly, warily looking at him as he sat on the end of the bed facing you.

"(y/n), is it okay if that's what I call you for now?" He asked and you nodded slowly. "My name is Steve Rogers. You can say Steve, right?"

"S'eve." That was the best you could do.

"That's good." He said, smiling a bit. "Would it be okay if me and my friends tried to help you? You say it's not possible, but maybe we can make it a little bit better for you."

"You no' mean?" You asked, uncurling only a little bit.

"No, I'm not mean and neither are my friends."

"Otay." You said, starting to play with your fingers.

"Okay?" Steve asked, his eyebrows furrowing.

"Otay. I le' you try help, even doe I don' t'ink it work." You said, doing your best to keep a smile off your face.

"Okay." Steve said, a soft smile on his lips.

This was the first time you had been happy since you were taken, thinking you'd have a new family.
