"Holy shit, P!" Hannah wolf whistled at me hours later. After we had both done our makeup, helped each other with our hair and got changed. "I knew the dress would look good on you but I didn't know it would look that good."
"Shut up!" I playfully pushed her shoulder. "Look at your god damn legs." I pointed at them. All slim and toned muscle. Where my legs were toned from the running I did most mornings but I was a few inches shorter than my friend and had sufficient curves. "You look like a friken supermodel."
"I do don't I?" She spun and looked at herself in the full length mirror in her bedroom. Her eyes darted to me and looked me up and down. "We are so going to have guys falling at our feet tonight."
The one thing Hannah never lacked, was confidence. It was one of the things that I admired the hell out of. I wasn't self conscious per say, I worked hard for the body that I have but even so, there was still that small part of me that gnawed on my pride and told me I would never be good enough.
"I don't know about guys falling at my feet but I'll take them falling into my bed at the end of the night," I winked at her.
A ding sounded from her cellphone and she swiped up on her screen, "our ride is here! Girl I didn't even tell you the best part!" She squeaked with excitement as she pulled on my arm and we made our way out of her bedroom.
"I got us into The Two Headed Raven!"
"You what!" I stopped in my path and gawked at her at the top of the grand staircase.
The smile of her face was utterly smug and she nodded enthusiastically. The Two Headed Raven was one of the hottest nightclubs in the city and it had a three month wait list. "I totally did. While you were in the shower I rang Wren, whose Uncle is now screwing Moira friken Davis."
"He's what! How did I not know about this?" My brain semi exploded and nervousness shot through me as to where I thought Hannah was going.
Moria Davis was one of the two co-owners of The Two Headed Raven and she was a total dream boat! But it was the fact that I knew she was also on The Crimson Snakes payroll. Her club would most likely be packed with the gang members floating about and the thought made my skin crawl.
"Honestly P, I swear I told you live under a rock sometimes." Hannah laughed and I turned my face away for a moment. Trying to hide the unease that I could feel settling over my features, she seemed way too happy and proud of herself for me to go and ruin it with my bullshit fears. "Anyway, Wren got our names on the list for tonight!"
She shook my arm and I turned back to her trying to smile enthusiastically, "come on babe!" She pulled me down the steps. "You could look a little surprised or grateful that I just got us into the most popular nightclub of the year! I heard they have cages hanging from the ceiling with naked guys and girls inside dancing and some of them even fuck!"
I had to laugh then. "They do not! Who the hell told you that?"
"Wren! He's been there loads."
"He is full of shit! There is no way they would be allowed to do that." I scoffed even though a small bit of excitement bubbled up inside of me.
"Guess we will have to see for ourselves," she winked and pulled me towards the foyer and front door. Where our Uber was waiting to take us to a nightclub, possibly full of the most viscous gang in the city. The gang my father had screwed over and somehow made it out alive. Fuck, I was going to need a lot of alcohol tonight.
