The trade

Before we start this amazing story, i want to thank and credit my best friend lynn for helping me write this first chapter. It has been a big journey but here it finally is. I hope you enjoy it and if there are any mistakes please let me know!

"you'll be safe here, i promise.."

"no.. COME BACK!"

Rey awoke in a cold sweat. She had dreamt about her parents again, same memory as always. It was a horrible memory, but it was her only memory of them. As much as it haunts her, she didn't want to forget what her parents did for her.

she jumped out of her hammock and emerged from the corner, getting ready for a long day in the desert. Every day was the same. She would wake up, dress according to how the sands were behaving, scavenge the junk yards for parts she thinks will be worth the most, turn the junk in at plutt's and receive a small portion of food.
It wasn't the most exciting life, but she was grateful nonetheless.

"Hey teeds" she said to the familiar teedo outside her place, no response, as usual. She rolled her eyes and continued to trek towards her usual areas to find scrap. The two suns were shining bright and the air was hot. Sweat was beginning to trickle down rey's forehead. Breaking her usual routine, she'd noticed an unfamiliar black mass in the distance, it seemed like it had crashed pretty hard into the sands. She picked up her pace and looked around for any sign of competition. The closer she came, she noticed more and more ships that had crashed, scattered all across the area. She could hear screaming and crying in the distance, she glanced towards the source of the panic and saw a red haired man ordering subjects around. There were lines of storm troopers awaiting instruction and civilians on the side lines being questioned and interrogated. "What the hell" she mumbled to herself. Still confused to what was happening she wandered to one of the crashed ships looking for answers, laying low.

As she came closer, it became clear that the ship in question was a TIE fighter. Still smoking. She checked for any sign of life inside and around the ship and found no one. Reaching into one of the broken panels to start tearing the ship apart, she sensed a presence behind her, she turned to find Unkar Plutt standing there in all his ugly glory. "What's going on?" She asked. "i don't know, now move" he ordered, shoving her aside, "This ship is mine girl" he scoffed. Rey was about to start arguing when suddenly two men and a droid ran past them. They looked different than the rest of the men surrounding the debris. Rey and plutt looked at each other for confirmation that they've seen the same thing. "What was that?" Rey asked. Soon after, 5 first order guards came running towards them.

"We're looking for a droid accompanied by two men. Criminals. Where are they?" One of them asked unkindly. "they went that way" plutt answered, pointing in the direction they supposedly went.

"You three, go find the fugitives. Update me every 15 minutes" the lead guard ordered.

"Sir we will need to take this TIE fighter back in our possession. The lead guard said. "No this TIE is mine! I found it fair and square! It's on my sands!" plutt shouted. "Excuse me, I actually found it" rey said through gritted teeth. "Piss off girl" plutt spit. The guards were loosing their patience as they were still trying to find the fugitives. "How about a deal?" Plutt offered. "I get the TIE and y'all get the girl hm?"

One of the guards looks at the others with a not convinced look. "Why would we want her" one of them scoffed at the offer.

"She's a special one, she could be of great use to you" plutt stated

"Special in what way?" One of the guards asked. "She's a force user or something, i don't know exactly,  but her parents said she's special".

Rey immediately regained interest in the conversation. A shocked expression started to form on her face.

"Special? My parents said that? You knew my parents?" rey asked in a line of questions.  The guard pondered the offer. After a while of thinking and discussing they came to the conclusion that she might be at use after all. "You're coming with us, now tell us which direction they went!" One of the guards shouted. "No! You're not taking me anywhere!" Rey screamed struggling to get out of the grip of the guard. "You can't do this! I'm not special! I'm just a scavenger!" She said trying to change their minds. "Stop. Fighting." Said the guard holding her. Rey heard what he said but didn't care, she needed to run. Whoever these guys where they were bad. "Alright that's it, her struggling only slows us down. Take her to hux and don't loose her!" One of the lead guard said. "Yes sir" the guard answered.

As rey was still kicking and flapping around her, the guard hit her on her head with his weapon. It knocked her out instantly, this would definitely result in a concussion. The guard dragged her to the place general hux was located, she could feel herself being dragged along the sand, as grains made their way into the crevices of her clothes and into her mouth. Still hoping to resist, she found she could not move, she stayed motionless until she was lifted from the ground only to meet it harder in a short moment. The guard had plopped her down in the sand. "And who may this be?" Hux asked unbothered. "She's supposedly a force user sir, we took her in as we thought that the commander might want information out of her." The guard answered. As rey slowly woke up, she felt her head throbbing. vision blurred, she could make only out what she could recognize as the red haired man she saw before.

He was saying something but she couldn't understand what. "Is she deaf?" Hux asked in a irritated tone. He didn't have the patience to wait for rey to respond so he went on with his mission. "Drug her and take her onto the ship" he ordered the guard. "Yes general sir!" The guard responded. Rey fully conscious now heard what they were about to do to her. As she was starting to freak out she saw a needle coming at her. "WHATS THAT? WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO ME!" she shouted in a fit of rage and fear. "This is only gonna put you asleep for some time don't worry" The guard responded calm as ever. And before rey knew it she couldn't feel her body anymore and her eyes started to fall close. The next thing she knew was being picked up and placed somewhere cold.

And as fast as that, rey's life had completely changed.
