Raptor Girl

Aubrey's POV

I was with my Owen in our little house that he built...with the help of me of course. I was sleeping when Owen woke me up with a shake "wake up!" He yelled into my ear "cmon bro" I yelled and rolled off the bed and onto the cold wood floor with a groan  "it's morning when people wake up...well normal people" he says and I perk up "are you calling me not normal?" I ask my brother  with a little sass

 "no of course not sis...but maybe" he mumbles the last part but I hear him and slap his arm. I get dressed in whatever shit i could end up finding in my closet that actually matched and walked out in an outfit that actually didn't suck today   

"well it took you long enough" Owen says as i walk out of my bedroom a few minutes later "oh shut up" i say to him walking out of the house and into my older brother's jeep. he gives me a look "oooh who you dressing up for?" he asks me and i roll my eyes at him 

"i'm hella lonely who do you think i'm dressing up for?" i ask him in a dub tone as we both just chuckle 

Owen drives us to the Raptor paddock cause I'm only fifteen and a half and can't drive...yet.

"wait til i drive you to the raptor pen in this baby" i say hopping out of the jeep "as long as i'm alive you're never driving me anywhere" Owen says and i roll my eyes "i would be a wonderful driver" i say walking away from him 

 While Owen was with the older girls I went into Dagger's pen and started playing on the ground with her 

Dagger was my personal favorite out of all of the raptors. her teeth were as sharp as daggers as i found that out the day i met her. she was only a little baby back then. she is also the most 'unusual dinosaur' according to Owen since she was all white and had tiger like black stripes running down her sides. 

"Dagger and Aubrey your up!" I hear Barry yell to me as i was being play attacked by the baby raptor  "coming!" I yell back with a giggle  "ya ready girl?" I ask Dagger as she cocks her head to me  "I'll take that as a yes" I say standing up and grabbing my clicker. Today was the day Echo, Charlie, Delta, and Blue met Dagger since she was getting a little big, she was already above my hip.

"Girls!" Owen yelled at the older raptors, gaining their attention  "meet Dagger" he says and the girls look at me and Dagger. Yes I was in the pen. Only because the girls trust me. 

all of a sudden Charlie started growling at Dagger "Charlie no!" I snap at her Dagger was my girl and they will treat her with respect. 

just like they do me 

Blue came up to Dagger and sniffed her. After a lot of sniffing Dagger and Blue started to play on the ground 

Blue slightly nudged Dagger with her muzzle, causing Dagger to topple over with

ch i thaught she was being dramatic about but after that so did the others soon they were all playing together "yessssssss"I yelled as I came out of the pen and jumped into my big brothers arms and letting me feet off the ground so he was carrying me 

 "Your gettin to old for this" he said setting me down "I'll never be to old or big for that" I say smiling like a dork "your an idiot" Owen says and pushes me aside to meet Hoskins.

i glare at him and then glare harder at Hoskins. he was such an A-hole 

While I watched Owen and Vic bicker back and forth I went up to see the new kid that just got the feeder job and watch if he was doing it right. But before I got there some guy yelled "Pig loose!" And after the guy with the feeder job tried to grab the pig, he fell right in the pen with the Raptors "ugh what an idiot move" I say under my breath as I jump in the pen after him. 

i landed with a thud on the cool dirt as i see the raptors all coming closer and closer to the guy with a little bit too much curiosity. 

i run up to the raptors, clicker in hand as they started growling at the new guy. 

"Hey Delta!" I shout at her as the new guy goes behind me, running to the fence opening and to safety  "don't give me that shit Charlie!" I yell at her as she starts to growl at me  "language!" I hear Owen yell at me from above "whatever!" I yell back rolling my eyes 

"close the gate!" I yell to  Barry "what?!" He yells back confused "shut the gate!" The feeder guy says to him and the gate starts shutting.

i keep one hand in front of me and one hand right behind me as the whole time while slowly backing up closer and closer to the gate 

At the last second I turn backward and run, sliding under the gate with five slams behind me i turn and see the raptors looking in through the gaps of the gate 

i sigh and go over to the man shaking on the ground "hey your the new guy right?" Owen asks and the guy nods "ever wonder why there was an opening?" I ask him and he shutters "don't ever turn your back on the fence" Owen says as my phone rings and the words read 'Claire' 

I answer and she starts talking "hey Aubrey I was wondering..." she starts saying  "oh no" I say and facepalm "can you maybe go with my nephews today cause it's there first time here and I want someone closer to their age with them" Claire says "yeah sure" I say nodding "what time?" I ask her "uhmmm" Claire thinks  "2:30" she finally says "ok I'll be where?" I starting to walk out of the fence.

 " by the port with Zara" she says "ok I'll be there" I say "bye" Clare says "bye" I say the same then hang up on her. 

"Hey Owen I gotta do something I'll be back later!" I yell to him as i leave the gate and start walking backwards  "ok don't do something stupid!" He yells back as i turn back around and shove my clicker in my pocket  "no promises!" I yell back to him laughing and walking to the port.
