The place I have chosen to begin this story is one that is beautiful and bright, it is the garden belonging to the lovely Queen Kristen, gifted to her by her husband, King Phil.

They were together in that garden, along with their lovely daughter Niki, seated at the small patio table. Their usual morning tea bliss was interrupted by Queen Kristen's chatter.

The topic?

Niki's coronation.

"Really, I think we should shoot for the extra balloons and see if they have time. If not, it's not the end of the world but I'd rather be prepared," She paused for a moment, lifting a finger. "Although, too many balloons might look too crowded. We want everything to be open and exciting!" Her eyes strayed around her, reflecting on what she had said. "You know what? I'm going to shoot my shot and the party supply store will be the deciding factor." Queen Kristen looked between Phil and Niki for their approval.

The king and princess glanced at each other for a moment before shrugging, smiling to themselves. They had seen Kristen plan enough parties to know there was no detail left without having been triple checked and overthought 20 times.

Niki reached across the table and grabbed her mother's hand. "I'm sure everything is going to be perfect Mom, please don't worry so much." Niki, noticing her mother's already empty tea glass (which had been practically chugged as Kristen worried) grabbed the teapot on the table and filled her cup, which Kristen hastily sipped.

A nervous habit.

"Why don't we talk about everything that has been completed?" Phil asked.

Kristen sighed, biting her lip. "Well, the cake is made and ready, the caterer's are currently prepping all the food, the ballroom is being decorated as we speak, and now that I think about it I know you said you wanted everything to be a surprise, Niki, but we do need to know what color streamers you'd like."

"Mom honestly-"

"You don't mind," Kristen finished for her. "I know, just thought I'd ask."

The three of them slipped into silence as the clear day and glowing flowers stole their attention. The early morning was the trio's favorite time to sit outside, when it was peaceful and all life was just beginning to wake up. It was the calm and relaxing...

most of the time.

'Are you sure? You promise you'll tell me if there's anything else you want?" Kristen interjected, breaking the peace that had been created.

"Mom, you are too sweet," Niki smiled. "I know whatever happens at the party, I will love it because it's being organized by my favorite person in the world."

Kristen beamed, squeezing Niki's hand. "Thank you darling"

Phil chuckled. "Oh my two girls. Niki, would you mind heading back inside to see if your brother is awake? I want to talk to your mother and then the two of us will meet you inside for breakfast."

Niki raised her eyebrow in curiosity, but decided not to question. "Ok, I'll see you in a few minutes then."

Niki stood and, with a final look of confusion, headed down the brick path back to the castle.
