Midnight 16th September 1964
pools of blood, pieces all around, yellow tape around the premises, cops and ambulances everywhere, steady around the corpse the victim drained of life, her lifeless eyes lay awake as the white sheet laid upon her pale body. Taken away to the morgue for testing in the ambulance the scene is left empty for detective peri left to examine the crime, no evidence nothing not even a pin drop of the killers dna. It wasn't the first murder done at midnight, it was the third time. the third time the man in black had stricken another teenage victim but this time a young woman.
No connection between any of these victims, wrong time wrong place I suspect but three times it couldn't t be a coincidence. First two victims were male teenagers who were also murdered at midnight, all three murders were constructed differently. First victim was strangled by a cord, second victim had his throat slit and eyes removed and the third was stabbed a total of 23 times and had her heart carved out. The murder weapons from each victim have not been found and the young lady's heart is no where to be seen.
Back at the precinct the board was full of pictures of victims and the cause of death but no suspects, all murders were committed when there were no cameras but while the murderer committed his second murder there was a witness a women who hid behind in the shadows so she won't be caught. When the man was done he calmly walked away and the lady called the cops she described him as muscular 6'1 ft tall and was seen wearing all black.
Driving home all possible thoughts go through my head what could they have in common that the killer would want to hurt, no thought made sense none.
Reaching home ready for another sleepless night I walk inside all lights off as everyone is sleeping, kissing my kids goodnight and holding my wife as she sleeps peacefully. Eyes wide, creating scenarios of each victim, the case is malicious and tiring to think about but I can't stop I need to put an end to this before he kills anymore innocent teenage victims to be honest it drove me insane catching from my superior officers for not having this case solved but what can I do the killer is smart, psychotic even.
Days go by days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months and months turn into years till the case becomes cold and 10 victims are now dead.
Three years go by and till this day detective Peri couldn't solve the case and he wasn't going to any time soon either because the day came where he laid on his death taking slow breathes as a figure dressed in all black stands against Peri "I thought you were smart enough to figure who I am Kyle peri" the figure chuckles and walks away and as he does Peri's breath heightens as of his of his heartbeat and ashe takes his last breath he's left in disbelief, could it been a hallucination or reality? his imagination or an experience? was it him or a copy cat?
After detective Peri had passed away the case was given to another detective it got passed around to different people but no one was able to solve it. He stopped killing there was no more victims no more evidence nothing to go on by. So the case was left unattended and vastly become the most famous cold case of all, it was pushed back on a shelf where it won't be touched for the next 50 years. The case of the man in black that murdered at bloody midnight was given up for the last time in 1968.
Midnight 20th august 2018
Cold winter night, wind dancing through the dark sky blowing through my hair as the crime scene makes my skin crawl. Goosebumps all over as the body of Daniel pona's body was displayed lifeless and pale left for forensics to test. His lips sewn shut kneecaps taken fingers chopped off and stuffed in his mouth. It couldn't get worse never have I ever seen something as gruesome as this, the first case I've ever felt such disgust in. The scene quite and soft no words spoken no eyes locked everyone face horror of the body of the poor bloke.
He was identified as a college student in a small town called Merrylands, there are no known murders for the last 50 years so why now? The teenager was found in the next town over no witnesses no camera nothing that would give any evidence of who it could've been. The murder was established in a dark alleyway very few street lights barley able to see anything, the murder had to be planned there could be no way they had disembodied the victim without having a plan.
Forensics scattered around the place flashing lights taking multiple pictures of the victim, driving in the rain back to the precent thinking of any possible reasons why someone would do such a thing. Sitting at the desk looking at the possible suspects, classmates, friends, family or anyone who had connections with the victim.
could this have been the work of the man in black, ever since I was a rookie cop I was taught about the bloody midnight a case that was abandoned and the killer let loose, was this a copy cat or could it be him? he'd had to be at least over 60 years old
No it couldn't that's too big of a stretch.
