After the events of the latest game The Galactic Rangers receive a distress signal from a far off galaxy called The Milky Way when our two hero's arrive there they see a burnt down husk of a planet that in the end is still showing that someone is alive on the planets surface. After finding or young Oc in an underground vault they explain what happened to Earth and in the end travel around The Milky Way in the hopes of stopping The First before it spreads it's filter across the who universe.
