I sat down on the couch next to him and saw Moulin Rouge was still on. It was at the song Roxanne. My favorite song in the whole movie. "Really, Trix?" He joked. "What?" I giggled. "Moulin Rouge? I was wrong, you haven't changed. Hey!" He jumped a little when Sprout came back and laid down in his lap. "I told you he would. And is change a bad thing?"
"Oh hell no. Especially for you. You look good."
"Wow haha. Thanks."
"Anytime. So what you doing now a days?"
"Working as a waitress at a diner. Then here you are touring the world playing shows."
"True. Why not go to college and get a good job?"
"One, you know I hate school so I wouldn't last a day. Two, even if I wanted to, I don't know what I would go for." I stood up and pulled out a glass from the cabinet, pouring cold water into it and sat on the counter, crossing my legs and facing him. "Good point. Plus you'd leave anyway."
"You know me so well."
"Well I was your best friend."
"Touche. So what now?"
"I don't know. What time is it?"
"Like 8:15."
"Oh, okay. Hey, do you still have that movie?"
"What movie?"
"The movie we always used to watch when we were little."
"I still don't know."
"Come on, Trix. We used to stay up late and watch it all the time. Our parents hated us watching it and we always screamed when we got scared and pissed them off."
"Do you mean The Exorcist?"
"Yes! Do you remember it?!" He bounced up and down in excitement.
"I remember it now. I'm not watching it with you right now, though."
"Awwwww. Why noooot?"
"Cause you'll go home right after and I'll be scared shitless."
"So you're saying you'll only watch it with me if I stay the night?"
"Yep." I hopped off the counter and put my glass in the sink, walking over to him and leaning on the couch behind him. "Alright." He shrugged. "Wait, what? What alright?"
"I'll stay the night." I laughed a little. "You're funny."
"I'm being serious. I'll stay the night so we can watch it. I'll go pick it up and grab my stuff and come back."
"Ugh, fine. Bring popcorn if you can." He laughed a bit and got up, heading out and driving off to god knows where. I still find it shocking that he's actually wanting to spend the night just for an old childhood movie and we just reconnected today. I can understand it if he wants to go back to the way it used to be but still, I cant read minds so I don't have a slightest clue.
About an hour later, he came back with a gym bag, a box of popcorn, candy, soda, and a movie. "Oh damn. I honestly didn't think you were serious." I joked putting my hands on my hips.
"What did you think I would do?" He asked, putting his bag next to the door and latching it shut. "I just didn't think you would come back."
"Come on, Trix. Would I really turn down a movie night?"
"Good point."
"Go get changed."
"What?"
"Go change into pajamas. Wouldn't be a fun movie night if you're in jeans."
