"Hey Jude, come are you going in the tent yet?" I hear Connor ask me from behind. "Yeah, just give me a minute." I reply, nodding my head. Right now, we are on a family camping trip and I invited my best friend, Connor Stevens to come with us. Connor has always accepted me for who I am, and that's all I could ask for.
I climb into Connor and me's tent and I climb into my sleeping bag. I notice him staring at me out of the corner of my eye, and when I ask him what's up he jumps. "U-uh, nothing. I was just thinking about something" Connor replies shakily. "Yeah? What about." I ask, smiling a little when his eyes widen. "Uh, do you r-remember when we almost kissed? When we were playing-"
"Spin the bottle? Yeah, I remember, why?" I curiously ask. "I was just wondering." Connor replies again, and turns away. I don't know if I believe him or not, but I ignore it, turn around, and fall into a deep sleep.
------------------------------------------
In the morning I wake up, feeling someone's arm around my waist. I turn my head slightly and see Connor, with his face nuzzled up into my back. I smile and start playing with his hands' accidentally waking him up. I hear him groan and my smile falters slightly. "Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up." I say to him, now holding his hand.
"It's okay. I don't mind." He says sleepily, and I turn my body to face him, never letting go of his hand. He takes his free one and presses it to my cheek, smiling at me. "Can I try something?" He asks me. "Yeah, of course." I reply, a little confused. He starts to lean toward me, and presses his lips to mine.
The kiss only lasts a few seconds, but it still gave me chills. My eyes are still closed when we pull away, and I hear Connor speak. "I'm so glad I met you." I smile and nod my head, telling him the same.
I'm so glad I met Connor Stevens.
