When she was hoping that she would see Uriah the next day, she was proven wrong. He didn't come the next day. In fact, he didn't come the next whole week.

And now the feeling of anger and betrayal had already dissipated in her and instead replaced with it was the feeling of dread and nervousness that he might not be able to make it to prom which wasn't far away.

It was a Thursday and Kelliana had just finished reviewing her college applications and essays, making sure they were perfected and listed all her great qualities and accomplishments. It felt like a self-care routine when she could finally give time to herself to think about the future, knowing she had one thing that was certain and was easy to control. She knows what she wants and she knows she will get it.

"Here you go, submit this for me and make sure you keep track of the waiting lists that pop up", Kelliana hands the copies of the applications to a junior girl who was a part of her little groupie fanclub. The girl smiles gleefully as she excuses herself to go to a scanner in the library and so Kelliana gets up and packs her things away, feeling one step closer to finding peace as she ticked off the remaining things she needed to do today.

"Kelliana!", a girl calls out to her, the other groupie that went by the name Jaz approaches her as she was heading towards the exit.

"What is it."

"Do you want me to find any competing applications that might hinder your acceptance in the local area and handle them? I know a guy that can do that for you", she eagerly tells her as if she's been waiting to prove herself to her idol all day.

Kelliana chuckles at her commitment to do what it means necessary to please her, even if it resulted to hacking. Jaz's eyes lit up at her idol's chuckle as she shook her head.

"We don't need to result to that. I don't play like that. Besides, I don't have competition", was all she said as she turned around and continued to the door, her groupie gawking at her with awe and astonishment at how confident she was.

She makes her way back out of the library and heads towards her locker. It was her last free period for today so she was keen to go home.

As she mindlessly walks back to her locker through the empty hallways, her feet slow down as she sees who was at the other end.

Dean.

She gulps as her eyes remained fixed on him as he was walking towards her, his eyes fixated on his phone until he looked up and met her own gaze with widened eyes.

They both slowly came to a halt as they neared each other and became frozen as they haven't come across one another while they were alone. She was always either with Gina or Uriah and he was always with his friends.

But today it was just the two of them.

It was just a silent exchange of stares as Kelliana fluttered her lashes at him, but for some reason, her heart didn't jump like it used to. Instead it squeezed in pain because they went from talking so much and being in love, to strangers.

He scratched the back of his head as he shoved his phone into his pocket as he mumbled an inaudible "hey" to her. The exchange was very awkward and Kelliana didn't know how to respond or didn't know why she was standing here trying to evoke a conversation out of him.

He seemed like he wanted to say something else but Kelliana leaves him be by saying she had to go and she immediately left him in the hallways as she dashed towards where her locker was.

She finally let out the breath she was holding as she got to her locker, pausing for a moment.

That was the first time Dean has spoken to her in weeks.
