Tine's POV
Fong and I managed to look for an affordable restaurant near our dorm and we've since decided that it would be our go-to place if we were to eat out together in the future.
I went back to my room 414, which would most probably accompany me for the rest of the academic year. I was hoping that my roommate had already arrived, I was so pumped to meet my first new friend in this place. I've forgotten to get my phone along with me as I rushed out from my room just now, I was hoping that Sarawat wouldn't be too worried about me if I happened to miss any of his calls.
When I pushed the door opened, I realised a familiar build spread across the supposedly empty bed.
That broad back, why does it remind me of Sarawat?
I was taken aback by the way my roommate's clothes and shoes were scattered across the room messily. My head was throbbing painfully as the ghost of perfectionism simmered at the back of my mind. The excitement of meeting my new roommate had vanished into thin air.
"I'm sorry for the mess, I'll organise them later." My new roommate said tonelessly.
He sounded exhausted, frustrated and maybe I've mistaken that weird tone, but it sounded like something was eating him up from within.
Well, it makes no sense to continue holding a grudge against him, right?
"Oh, okay. Up to you." I let out an awkward smile, despite I knew that he wasn't able to see me.
I reached over to my phone as I made myself comfortable on the carpeted floor, my back leaning against the bedframe. My eyes almost popped out of their sockets when I saw 50 miss calls from Sarawat, and I had just gone out for about an hour.
What the f'ck are you even trying to do here, Sarawat?
Instinctively, I did what made the most sense at that moment - to dial Sarawat's number. I frowned when I heard my roommate's phone rang immediately after I placed the earpiece next to my ear.
What a coincidence, even the ringtones they used are similar.
As if I was witnessing a mystery unfolding slowly, I saw my roommate extending his right arm across his bed to fetch his phone and picking it up. My breath hitched and my heart was beating rapidly.
Maybe it's just a coincidence.
"Ai'Wat! 50 calls in an hour, are you for real?" I yelled into my phone as soon as Sarawat picked the phone up.
Instead of answering me, I could only hear crackling noise from the other side of the line. My eyes widened as I saw my roommate turned himself over, revealing his face to me.
Oh my God, what's happening on earth now?
It was really Sarawat who was lying across the room, his hand still holding the phone and his Bambi's eyes widened in shock.
I felt myself being compressed into the bed frame and Sarawat's hair tickling at the side of my neck. I winced in pain as my back hit against the frame.
"Yes, I am for real. I'm sorry Tine."
"Ahem, let me go, my back." I choked out heavily.
I gasped for air as soon as Sarawat released me, I was very sure there would be a bruise blooming nicely on my back later. Sarawat busied himself to roll my shirt up, I quickly stop him before he could proceed further.
"What are you trying to do now?"
"I just want to take a look at your back." He put on his puppy eyes and I knew I was doomed.
Hell, I would be willing to pluck the stars from the sky for him with those puppy eyes.
"Let's settle things one by one, okay?" Sarawat nodded obediently.
"Firstly, why are you in my room? Are you going to be my new roommate?"
"I guess so, the receptionist downstairs told me that my room number is 414." Sarawat answered accordingly.
"Okay, then, are they going to stay as they are?" I pointed at the pile of shoes and clothes scattering at the entrance.
"No, I promised you that I will organise them later." He pouted cutely, his cheeks expanding comically.
Gosh, can I pinch his cheeks?
"Well, last question, what were that 50 calls for?"
"You weren't picking up my calls and I have no idea who Kate was but I swear that you will be my one and only."
God, can I kick him?
"Yes, you're going to be late, and yes, we can meet for dinner."
I pretty much figured out what Wat wanted to tell me and absolutely, I wasn't mad at him, I just wanted to laugh at how adorable his typos were.
"But you didn't answer my calls?" He opened and closed his mouth like a fish out of water.
"I've forgotten to bring my phone along with me, khor thot khrap."
I flattened my palms against his bread cheeks, lifting his head up until our gazes levelled. For a split second, I thought we were thrown back into the time tunnel, those familiar eyes from the concert.
The realisation hit me like a truck. Was Wat already in love with me before the concert?
He looked like he was going to cry anytime from now and I have absolutely no idea how to stop that from happening.
"I'm sorry na, I will remember to bring my phone along with me next time." I apologised sincerely again.
"Ki mi bet." He buried his face into my palms as he mumbled incoherently.
What was that?
"Arai wa? I didn't get that Wat."
"I said, kiss me better baby." He pouted again.
He looked adorable with those shining eyes, pouty lips and squishy cheeks.
"Arai?"
It took me about 3 seconds to realise what he wanted from me.
"I said, would you kiss me better, baby?" He looked at me expectantly.
Oh, well, maybe?
It has been about 6 months since that concert and we had been seeing each other since then, but we hadn't done anything more intimate than holding hands and sharing a hug. I would be lying if I were to say I wasn't looking forward to the next level of intimacy to happen between us.
As I fixated my gaze on Sarawat's eyes, I leaned in closer until our chests touched, breathes fanning against one another.
