Having the day all to himself, Wei Ying got dressed and strolled downhill to the river to wash the night away. He could still catch a faint scent of Lan Zhan on his clothes, and this brought him some comfort. The whole area was bushy and overgrown with shrubbery and lanky, deformed trees. There were no paths carved through the woods and it took him some time to find his way around.

Petulantly, he was striding, striking stalks and stems with his sword, thinking about all the things that happened the previous day. He was truly yearning for some scary encounter with any monster that might come his way – in battle he could at least pour his anger and frustration out. But no – just shrubs and thorns.

He tried telling himself that he was now patrolling  the area instead of Lan Zhan, and being responsible  –  promising himself that he won't be missing him, and he won't be thinking about him.

But how could be? How could he not miss those gentle fingers? Those soft lips? Slow and careful movements, those desperate kisses and tight embraces? He missed him. Miserably.

Insatiable.

That was the word.

Wei Wuxian was baffled at how insatiable Lan Zhan was, when it came to him.  He had never seen so much love and affection shown between two people. In his Clan's abode, his foster parents were constantly at odds with each other – at best, Jiang Fengmian and Madam Yu were reserved towards each other, and quarreled often.

His Shijie and her future husband's relationship was even more confusing for him, as the two treated each other coldly or awkwardly, or both, as if afraid to be together.

And his brother... he wasn't interested in anyone else but himself. Sometimes Wei Ying wondered if he'd ever marry at all.

Now, by his side was someone who craved his touch, always found excuses to caress him, or support him, help him; always attentive, always listening, always forgiving. In the last two days he had realized just how much some of his words in the past had probably hurt Lan Zhan  –  and he seemed to have forgiven everything.
