Chapter 2

Elanora

"Should I wear the blue dress or the green dress?" Sabrina asks holding up both of the dresses while looking in the mirror holding them in front of her, I look at the dresses she's holding. The dark blue dress is short and tight fitted with a v line neck, while the green dress is strapless, short, and tight fitted it has a small slit at the bottom.

"I say the blue dress" I answer while laying down on her bed

"Eh I like the green better"

"What was the point in asking me if you were going to wear the green one anyways," I ask giving a slight laugh

"I wanted to be nice and at least ask you for your opinion in hopes that you would say the green one" she says while putting the dresses on a chair and laying down next to me on the bed.

"Do we have to go to this party?" I ask annoyed

Vinnie is throwing a party since the boxing team won against Eastwood high, our school's rival. Everyone on the team is gonna be there and mostly everyone from school is going to show up.

"Yes, we have to go for Chris and Aaron and if we don't go we'll look like bad friends, or worse they'll end up finding girlfriends and we can't have that" Sabrina says jokingly making me laugh

"Oh no we can't have that happen"

I get up and rummaging through her closet to find something to wear because god forbid if Jacob were to see anything that a normal teenage girl would wear to a party in my closet

"Oh no I already found the perfect dress for you to wear tonight" with that she gets up and goes to her bathroom in her room and grabs the dress that seemed to have been hanging behind the door. The dress looks just like the green one but in black

"Look we can be twinning," she says excitedly

I stare at the dress in disbelief, I could never actually wear that. My brother would literally throw me out of the party if he caught me in something like that. I wanted to wear something that would probably piss him off sure, but not something he would kill me for wearing and that right there is something he would kill me for wearing.

I shake my head looking at her "I can't wear that Sab, Jacob will literally murder me" she rolls her eyes at me

"Who cares about Jacob, me, Aaron, and Chris will protect you don't worry, now get your ass up and put this dress on"

Walking into the party with Sabrina we make our way through the crowd searching for Chris and Aaron.

I keep tugging at my dress to pull it down but every time I do that I end up pulling it back up because then I feel like it's showing too much of my breast.

"Will you quit that you look fine leave it alone" Sabrina says smacking at my hand. I do as she says and quit messing with it.

"Damn looking good Nora" I hear someone say, I turn around to see Chris and Aaron walking towards us

"Right if I wasn't straight I would take her home" Sabrina says in response to what Chris said

I laugh shaking my head "I guess I look okay"

"Okay? no girl you look smoking" Aaron says and gives a small whistle

"Smoking? oh my you need to work on your compliments" I respond still shaking my head

"What? I like that word. Smoking" he says while nodding

"Dude you are never gonna get laid" Chris says putting his hand on Aaron's shoulder which makes Sabrina laugh

"As if you could ever get laid" Aaron says

As they continue talking I scan the room making sure to avoid Jacob but my eyes land on Vinnie talking to some redhead girl.

He's wearing a black shirt and black jeans holding a red cup which I assume has alcohol in it, he's smiling at her and then he looks up at me catching me staring his smile grows wider. I refuse to break eye contact, I don't want to seem like some scared little cat that gets scared just by his attention.

After what happened in class the other day I've been avoiding him but I refuse to keep seeming scared, I start to make my wait over to him but then someone grabs my wrist and starts pulling me I look up to see Jacob with the most pissed look on his face

Fuck

Once we're outside he finally lets go of me "what the fuck are you wearing" he yells his face close to mine

"A dress" I mutter looking down refusing to look up at him

"A dress? yeah a fucking hooker dress, what the hell made you think that it would be a good idea for you to wear that" He yells getting even closer to me

My eyes start to sting, I already know there's people looking at us but I refuse to look anywhere but then at the ground.

I already knew wearing this dress would be a bad idea, I don't know why I thought I could avoid him tonight, even if I was able to avoid him someone was bound to tell him. I'm so dumb

"I'm sorry" I mutter, feeling the tears start to roll down my cheek I quickly wipe them away

"You better be, what made you think that you coming to party looking like slu-"

"I think she looks gorgeous" I look over expecting to see Chris or Aaron or someone else I'm friends with but instead I see Vinnie.

"Vinnie mind your own business"

"You're doing this at my party so quite frankly this is my business, leave her alone and go back inside to your girl. Do you want her to go home because I'll bring her home if you want but there's no way I'm gonna let you continue talking to her like that" Vinnie says standing only 2 feet away from him.

"My friends can take me home" I spit out not wanting to be in a car with Vinnie especially not alone.

"Nora" I hear Sabrina call out, I look to see her, Chris and Aaron leaving the house and rushing towards us.

"Take her home" Jacob says to Vinnie

"I said my friends can take me home"

"You do as I say" Jacob says pointing at me

I just nod and right before I can wipe another tear from my cheek Vinnie wipes it away with his thumb and I quickly look away so that neither he nor my brother sees my cheeks flush red.

"What's going on here" Chris asks while pulling me behind him, staring up at my brother.

Jacob just chuckles not responding to Aaron "listen I'm taking her home so you guys can just go back inside" Vinnie says to my friends

"Like hell you are" Aaron says

"It's fine I want Vinnie to take me home just go back to the party please" I lie, I don't actually want him to take me home but I already know that if I let them take me home it'll be worse for me later.

"Are you sure?" Sabrina asks me while putting her arm on my shoulder and I just nod

With that Vinnie grabs my hand and takes me to his car opening the passenger side door for me and closing it once I get in

Once he gets in the car he looks over at me "Ella" he says but I ignore him as he starts driving "I do truly think that you look gorgeous by the way. Just thought you should know"
