Synopsis

Melanie is a 17 year old American girl. She lives in Hally, USA in a nice and quiet neighborhood. She is studying her senior year at her school. She plans to go to college in New York, wants to study medicine to take care of people in need. Melanie has lived with her aunt Mr. Sabine since she was 6 years old, when her parents died in a fire, in their home in Toronto, Canada. Which is where Melanie was born, plus she prefers to say she's American. No one knows the reason for the 2004 fire that killed her father (Mr. Robert), her mother (Mr. Joanne), and Melanie's older brother, named Sebastian, who was eight at the time. Honey, still looking for clues on the internet, and still hoping to find out what really happened. She was on vacation in Hally when she learned of the fire, so she saved herself. After 11 years, Melanie learned to deal with being an orphan, but her aunt always gave her all the love and care she needed. She lives alone, with her aunt who is a widow at the age of 36, who works to support them both, she is a lawyer, and all she wants is to see Melanie happy and educated.

Melanie's life is normal, until a young Frenchman comes to study at her school. Alaric is a cat, almost irresistible, and very mysterious Parisian, who catches everyone's attention at school, with his inexplicable paleness, muscular body, light eyes, golden hair, and his strange way of dressing: dark overcoat, leather pants black gloves, gloves, and motorcycle boots. It seems that Mel is the only girl who hasn't noticed the hot foreigner, even her best friend; Ariana, who is an angry rocker, thinks she's crazy not to notice how cute he is. Only Tomias agrees with her, he says he's just ''new people''. Melanie continues with her opinion until one day she has a friend's fantasy birthday party, and she sees Alaric brutally murdering a boy, along with another mysterious girl, also very beautiful. They both wore the same strange clothing, held very sharp weapons in their hands, and had strange tattoos all over their bodies. She runs to call the police, but Alaric stops her and erases her memory. Melanie goes to her house without understanding anything, but what Alaric doesn't know is that her memory is coming back. When Mel comes back to talk to him about what happened that night, he takes her to a place called: Palace of Angels, where old Mr. Haziel asks her a lot of questions. Mel wants to know why Alaric killed that boy at the party, but he denies it. And she insists, and when he says he's an angel with incredible powers, and supernatural strength, and that boy was a bloodsucking demon, and that he needed to kill him, Mel doesn't believe it, she runs off into the streets alone. It's when she is attacked by an animal, the size of a lion, more like a monster with two heads, sharp teeth, and huge claws, the monster attacks Melanie to kill her, just in time Alaric arrives and saves her . Only then does Melanie believe in Alaric. They're still trying to figure out how she can see all of this when Melanie discovers she's madly in love with Alaric, the arrogant blond angel. She also discovers that she is also one of them, a celestial warrior, ancestor of an angel who came to earth to protect humans from demons and vampires. Since then, Melanie's life is no longer the same.
