I woke up on Friday thanking the lord the week was almost over. I hopped out of bed with an unusual pep in my step. Could this boy really be making me a happier person?
I walk into my bathroom and examine what I have to do. I hate looking in mirrors. All I see is a mess, a monster. Dark circles and matted hair fill my eyes. I don't see what Matthew sees. I ignore my constant thinking and brush out my long hair. I put on some foundation and powder. I apply a little of my favorite mascara, and lastly I straighten my hair.
I have leggings, a flannel, and some white converse laid out from the night before. I quickly throw them on noticing the amount of time I have left. I rush downstairs and eat my breakfast as quickly as possible.
"Why in such a rush?" My mom asks handing me my car keys.
"It's been helping that I've been getting to school earlier. I just finish homework and study until first period." I explain.
"Well, don't bust your brain!" She laughs. "I am not going to be home until tomorrow morning. So please lock the doors before bed and go to sleep at a decent time." She walks over and kisses me on the forehead.
"Alright mom, love you." I smile back.
"Love you too." And with that she's out the door.
I get to my car a little after she's left and head to school. Winter in Virginia can be bad. But, this year it was pretty nice. It didn't snow much and it never got below 30 degrees.
I turned into the school parking lot and stopped my car. I was starting on my Chemistry homework when I heard a knock on my window. Matthew.
"Care if I join?" He asked smiling with his bright smile.
"I guess not." I half smiled. I liked him, a lot. But I just couldn't let anyone in the life right now. Things were good and I didn't need anyone else screwing that up.
"You look absolutely stunning." He started scanning me with his eyes. I blush at his comments.
"Thanks." I try and show no emotion.
"We should do something this weekend. Let me take you out to dinner!" He gave me the sexiest smirk, God. This boy has got me feeling all types of ways.
"I don't know..." I trail off in my thoughts.
"Come on! It'll be so much fun!" He was practically begging me. How could he like me so much?
"I have a lot of homework. I don't like to go out a lot either. Big crowds aren't my thing." I blankly stare at him.
"Fine. You know I'm really trying for you Amelia! I think your different and I want to show you that! Do you know how many girls have asked me to "hangout" these past few days, and I turn them down because I want you?! God, I was stupid to even try this. I knew you were too stubborn. It's only been a few days but Christ this is much harder than I imagined!" He was basically yelling by the end of his little rant. I could barely make out his chiseled features with the tears brimming my eyelids.
"Get.....out." I can barely make out the words without my voice embarrassingly squeaking.
"Oh my-Amelia. I am so so so sorry. You know I didn't mean it." The worry in his face is overwhelming, but my anger is much more powerful.
"NOW!" I scream as loud as I can. And with that he grabs his stuff and slams the door.
What just happened.

I was sitting in history when someone burst through the door. For a split second I thought it was Matthew coming to confess his love to me, but sadly it wasn't.
