Eve's p.o.v.

It's been three days since the third phase started and the end of the time limit was coming up. We only had four hours until the phase ended and there were 19 applicants so far at the bottom of the tower. I hadn't seen Killua and his friends yet and it concerned me but I was sure that they would make it through alright. In the meantime, Hisoka and I had entertained ourselves by playing different card games or simply chatting. We had been given some meals while we waited but despite having not eaten in awhile, I barely ate. It seemed to bother Hisoka because he would often try to talk me into eating more but wouldn't get very far. Every now and then one of the other remaining applicants would come over to talk but for the most part they kept their distance. I had caught many of them eyeing Hisoka and I warily but I ignored them. The one that got on my nerves however was Gittarackur. He continued to glare at the two of us every now and then but I began to notice his gaze was directed more towards Hisoka than me.

After the first two of the four hours left, I began to grow bored as I ran my thumb over the joker card charm Hisoka had given me absentmindedly. I hadn't noticed I was staring at the doors that had yet to open until Hisoka waved his hand in front of my face. Looking at him I found he had a concerned look on his face.

"What?" I asked confused

"You've been sitting like that for the past ten minutes. I was starting to think you died." He answered and I laughed a little.

"It's not going to be that easy to make me die. Nice try though." I teased and he chuckled.

"I would hope not my dear or else our time together may be cut short~"

"Oh no that would be so horrible wouldn't it!? Absolutely unthinkable!" I teased sarcastically faking shock and horror. I smiled as Hisoka laughed and giggled along with him.

Getting up, I stretched and pulled my violin out as I began to play the song I had when the exam first started. I laughed as I played when Hisoka stood and began dancing to the music encouraging me to join him as I played. I knew the others were staring at us but I didn't care. A few of them smiled at the two of us while the others either watched or ignored us. Either way it didn't matter to me since it meant my trick was working and they only suspected I was a harmless performer. Keeping a playful appearance was how I kept the fact I was an assassin from many people. While my family was hired often, we liked to keep a false appearance to the world and acted as performers when we weren't being hired. It kept us from being targeted and also served as a form of training for my family.

Once the song finished I smiled at Hisoka as I put my violin away and clapped as he bowed to me. I didn't understand why I was falling for his charms again but at the moment I decided to go along with it since it kept me out of danger from him. Hisoka and Gittarackur were the only two I was truly worried about when it came to someone as a threat. I knew I was no match for Hisoka and also knew that despite what little I knew about Gittarackur, he was much more skilled than I was.

Not long after the dance, one of doors opened and out stumbled Killua, Gon, Kurapika, Leorio, and unfortunately Tonpa. It still surprised me that man had made it so far but seeing as he was clinging to Leorio I could tell how he had managed to get through the third phase. He was nothing but a parasite and I found it disgusting.

"Good to see you made it Killua." I greeted as I walked up to him with Hisoka following behind me and he nodded looking at Hisoka warily.

"Yeah you too. What place did you finish?" He asked and I rubbed the back of my neck.

"We came in first and second place." I said and smiled at him.

"We?" He questioned and before I could speak Hisoka wrapped his arms around my waist and answered for me.
