" I just saw a nigga in the office."Carl hopped over a desk."A nigga girl."He added.I shook my head while folding my arms."What? Your mouth gone get you touched."I told him. That shit was disrespectful for him to talk about someone like that."No time soon. Let's go see her."
"What is she doing here? She has to be smart because she can't pay for this school."
"That's a black girl."
"She's pretty for a black girl."
"How'd she get in passion education?"
"Monkey!"
"I wonder who's her roommate, I feel bad for her."
"She not gonna last one week here."
"Who let the cage animals out?"
Everyone got silence when she walked in with her head high. She stopped looking around at everybody staring at her."The names Ca'Mia. Use it."
I smirked nodding my head in approval. I didn't see to many black people at school and when I did, they'd get bullied by the white kids.
I was taught to hate black people. I went by what I was taught until I seen the damage that just words alone did to a person. When you get older you know right from wrong.
"Monkey! Monkey! Monkey! Monkey!"Everybody yelled finding Joy in it. I sat back on the wall shaking my head. After a while you get used to it.
"Y'all the ghetto!"Ca'Mia laughed walking past them."I bet y'all won't touch me tho."She added taking off her backpack before sitting down.
It got quiet again as they looked at her like she was crazy."Y'all gone keep staring? Why not just take a picture."she rolled her eyes taking out a note book.
I laugh catching the attention of everyone. Ca'Mia glanced at me before fulling looking at me.
We made eye contact before she looked me over before shrugging. I raised a eyebrow licking my lip.
"You can't sit there!"
"I don't give a fuck. Move me rice cake."Ca'Mia said as gasping filled the room."Your gonna pay for this!"Karen screamed stumping her feet.
"Enough! Karen sit down now! And the rest of you, I'm very disappointed in you guys. The behavior you've given this young lady makes no since. She's no different than any of you. You better apologize before you guys get reports."
"She called us rice cakes!"Carl said like it was unbelievable."What's in the past stays in the past."Ms.Derby told him cracking a smile."Wow."
Everyone got seated. For the rest of class no one bullied her surprisingly, they acted like it was any other day at passion education.
