The gods walked in human form, the elder with the younger, stepping slowly over the corpses of their human ward.
It wasn't surprising that the spaceship Actium never made it out of the atmosphere. After all, it was shot out of the sky.
"Reset 1071 didn't go as planned." Travis kicked loose dirt from the ground. "They fought each other. Percy shot them down without hesitation."
"Perseus can be a good villain," Connor shrugged his shoulders. "He's powerful."
"But that's not what we need." Travis growled, raising his hand and pressing his fingers to his temples. "We need to force him into the role of a hero. Then he will lead the others."
"Do you really think they would follow in his footsteps?" Connor questioned.
"Yes." Travis sighed. "You doubt it?"
"Not exactly." Connor bent towards the ground. "He just needs to be someone worth following, and to do that he needs the right motivation." He stayed silent a moment before flipping the lifeless body of a crewman to face the sky. "We must make a villain for Perseus to fight, someone of equal or greater strength."
"Someone who has undoubted power over him..." Travis frowned. "With that, I agree."
"We could always use the girl?"
"True, but using her might backfire."
"Or... it could work."
Travis locked eyes with his brother. "And if it doesn't work?"
Connor sighed heavily. "Then we do it again. What's a thousand mortal years compared to infinity?"
"Fine." Travis raised his hand and extended it across the valley. "But we can't meddle."
Connor snickered. "You say we but you always do."
"They don't need to be led, but sometimes they need a push."
"Sounds like meddling to me."
Travis snapped his fingers.
