Jungwoo drives you back to the dorms after getting groceries. Jungwoo and you talk and catch up like you guys haven't seen each other in years, but it had only been 2 weeks.
You and Jungwoo are really close. He was the person that kept you motivated. He helped you the most when you needed it. You met him after Taeil introduced you to NCT 127. You were still very shy at the time and Jungwoo and to you and made you feel comfortable.
Ever since, when you guys are together, you guys are inseparable. But when you guys aren't together, it feels like forever before you guys see each other again.
You guys arrive a the dorms, and you guys are greeted by Taeyong, who offers to help with groceries.
Inside, Taeyong and Jungwoo put groceries away, while you begin getting the cake out.
"Who wants cake!" You yell for the whole house to hear.
You hear many footsteps and stomping down the stairs, coming to the kitchen in response.
"Tae? Could you get me some plates please?"
He grabs 10 plates. You count 8 people in the kitchen wanting cake. You slice and hand out evenly.
"Why is my piece so much smaller than Marks?" You look at Haechan's plate.
"Haechan, you slice is literally the same size at Mark's and Marks is the same as everyone else's." Haechan takes your piece and replaces his with yours.
You laugh as you continue giving out cake. You notice there was still one piece left on the tray. You noticed that Jaehyun didn't come down for a piece of cake. You didn't want to bother him, so you just left it there just in case he wanted it later. You had to smack Haechan and Jungwoo's hand away to save it for him.
Everyone was laughing and yelling to talk, eating cake as everyone was trying to speak and listen at the same time.
Everyone finished their cake and went in the backyard to spend time together. Everyone just left and didn't even clean up their mess. You were the guest and it felt wrong to leave the mess there.
You began picking up plates and putting them into the sink one by one.
You were throwing away napkins and garbage, when you heard light steps coming down the stairs.
You turn around and see Jaehyun turn the corner. You haven't seen him yet today.
His hair got longer. A lot longer. It suited him very well, you thought. He was wearing a long sleeve white shirt and some sweat pants. You watched his move as he noticed the cake on the counter, then his eyes are drawn to you.
"Hey, y/n." He waves. "When did we have cake?"
You blink, "I called everyone down for cake. Did you not hear all the clutter and yelling down here?"
"Uh, no. Well I did, but it's nothing different from the usual, so I thought nothing of it."
"Well, I saved that piece for you, so you can have it."
He grabs a fork and just eats it off the tray. "Hmmm! Did you get this?" You nod. "Ah, thank you. Very good."
You nod once again and turn around to do the dishes. You scrub the frosting and cake crumbs of the plates and lather dish soap over them with a sponge.
You feel Jaehyuns eyes on you from him eating his cake behind you. You feel a bit awkward but continue what you're doing.
After a few moments and dishes, you hear metal falling into the sink. Jaehyun finished his cake and was done with his fork.
You feel a hand on your waist and push you over. Though you don't move. Jaehyun pushes you once again. "You don't have to do dishes at our house. That's rude of us. You're the guest."
"I have no problem doing them." Jaehyuns hands were already in the water doing the dishes.
"Well, I'm not gonna sit there and watch you do the dishes that aren't even yours, and especially the fact that it's not even your house."
You stand there for a moment, not knowing what to say. There was nothing to say. What were you supposed to do? Argue with Jeong Jaehyun? Don't think so.
"Go in the backyard with everyone else. Enjoy yourself. Go talk to Mark."
You slowly turn around and walk to join everyone else in the back yard. You find Jungwoo talking with Haechan.
You begin to walk towards him when you feel someone tap your shoulder. You turn and Mark is standing behind you.
He smiles and waves. "Hey, Mark."
"Y/n. Wassup?"
"Nothing much, I'm just trying to find something to do I guess."
"Weird, you always have something to do."
"That's what I was thinking. But I guess I do have something to do now that you're here."
"I don't know, last time we talked, you told me I was boring."
Your last encounter with Mark wasn't the best. You guys were hanging out, he didn't know what to do and you got a call from your agency for a new drama, so you had to leave. Mark got really upset suddenly when you told him you had to go and it led to an argument. You got upset to and told him it wasn't your fault he was being boring and you would rather go to work than hang out with him.
"Yeah, about that...sorry heh." You felt bad, really bad, but apologies were not your thing. Taeil says it's cause you have too much pride to actually be sincere.
"Nah, it's cool. I was being a bitch too. Let's just blame it on the heat and call it a day."
"Sure thing. So about your text, I'm actually leaving on Saturday, so we would have to hang out tomorrow or before I leave."
"Yeah cool. Whatever fits your schedule. I guess even if you didn't have time, we could always hang out when you get back."
"Yeah, I should be done soon with the movie, I think."
"I find it so weird, but it feels like you've been gone for a year and your gonna be leaving again for another year."
"It does feel like that. I think it's because I'm so used to being here. I mean this has been my home for how long now and usually I film here too, so leaving is so different. But I do it all the time."
"Yeah, like when you told Taeil you were leaving for a bunch of auditions and you were posting on insta all those beach pics and parties and bars on your stories."
"Oh my gosh, he was so mad when I got home. Like, I need to get away from the chaotic NCT 127 once in a while." You both are a laughing mess.
"I mean you could try Wayv. I would say NCT Dream but we're the same there too."
"No, just guys in general." You laugh. But you notice Mark's not laughing like he was a moment ago.
"What's wrong?"
