Chapter 24

Irene's POV

I had a blast time with Sejun and my parents. We went to theme park while my parents having a date by themselves. Sejun have so much aunties so I'm not that tired looking for him. They already on plane now. I had a hard time persuade Sejun who is sulking and crying because he refuse to go back to Korea but somehow 'someone' had promised him something when he back to Korea, so he finally letting me go. I don't like Sejun being spoiled with things like toys because I learnt about not to burden people since I was a kid by Sera Eonni. I rarely buy him toys and most of the toys he got was given by others. I always tell Sejun that we have to be grateful with whatever we have and do not burden other people and he really did it. He rarely give hard time to his grandparents. Today, I have no schedule since I have submitted all my reports. I have to wait for the result about 1 month from now and for the time being, I don't have anything to do. 

Lay's POV

I'm on my way for my next tour schedule but this time is different. I will stay here for 2 weeks since I really want to see her and I will try my best to search for her. I have some interviews with local medias too. I take out the picture of our childhood time, I still remember everything vividly. Every moment we spent together, her smile, her laugh, everything about her. She is my strength, my muse, without her, I am nothing. Hope to see you soon, Ai Lin.

Irene's POV

Since I have a month left, I think I have to plan my time so that I not wasting this precious time of mine. I'm someone who can't just lay on my bed all day long. I happened to have a friend who work in Starbucks and she currently need a help since Starbucks is really HOT these days. I planned to help her tomorrow. The pay not that much but I would rather help her than just lay in my bed and watch TV. My phone where I put on my coffee table suddenly ringing. I reached the phone and pick up the call after knowing who the caller is. "Hello, yes Miss Kathy, how can I help you?", I jokingly answered as if I'm a customer service worker. "THANK GOD YOU PICKED UP MY CALL! I NEED YOUR HELP!", I can hear her sounds like she was in hurry. "Right now?", I asked. " No, next decade! ARE YOU KIDDING ME RENE? OF COURSE RIGHT NOW!", what a fool I am asking her that type of question. "Relax, girl! Don't be angry. Just send me the location! I'll be right there.", she answered with an 'okay' before she hang up on me. DING! Wow, so fast! I open the location Kathy sent and she also ask me to where something nice. Why she ask me to do that? Am I dress up like a clown before this? Lol. I immediately go to my room and change my outfit. I just where a blouse and a pair of slim jeans with light makeup on my face. I put on navigation and drive to the location Kathy sent.

No one's POV

Kathy running from one place to one place. She is so busy today since today's event have something related to her final project. Kathy major in something similar as Irene but she more to media event rather than broadcasting like news or TV programmed. She dialed Irene's number to ask her where she is. "Rene! Where are you?", I asked. "I already here but where exactly are you?", Irene's answer make she relief. "It's okay, just tell me where you are, I will pick you up.", Irene tell her where she is and she hang up the call to find her since she already know the place Irene talking about. When she found her, she immediately pull Irene into her arm. "OMG! Thanks Irene! Now, you need to help me." she hold Irene's hand after let her go. "What kind of help you want me to do? You make me feel nervous.", Irene nervously waiting for Kathy's answer. "You need to be the translator of an interview.", Irene chuckle after hearing what Kathy ask her to do. She think Kathy just joking with her. She laugh hardly but she stop when she see Kathy not smiling at all and staring at her seriously. "YOU NOT JOKING?!", Irene almost shout but kathy manage to cover her mouth. "The thing is the translator of this interview suddenly have a diarrhea and she is on her leave, So, we don't have much time to call other translator to replace her. Knowing you as a multilingual queen, so I just tell them that I have someone I know that could be the solution of this problem.", Kathy explain to Irene what actually happened. Irene sighed as she never done any translating job especially for media purposes. She hesitate at first but Kathy keep begging her and she end up saying yes to her since this also will affect Kathy's final project. 

Kathy pull Irene's hand to the backstage and introduce Irene to her team. "Your friend is so pretty, she could be the MC if she want though.", one of Kathy's teammate blurted out his opinion. "No, she is my bestfriend. If she get viral, people will come to us when we hang out. I want a peace life.", Kathy said to her teammate. She turn herself to Irene who stand quietly at the side. "Okay, Rene. I will brief you first okay? This is the questions the MC will ask and you can translate this first before we go on stage. The answer, you can write on this plain paper and whatever the MC say, you will directly translate to him.", Kathy explained and give the paper to Irene. Irene read it out first just to realize who the person they will interview later. "Yah! Why don't you tell me the person is EXO member? What if they know me?", Irene slap Kathy's arm. Kathy forgot to tell Irene the person they need to interview is but she assure Irene that the person is professional, so they would not mix personal and work related life. Irene feel like she want to go home right now but she already agreed to help Kathy so she have to. "What language?", Irene asked. "Oh! He is from China but he will talk maybe in Korean or Chinese. He can speak English but he still lack of that language so it's better for us to have a translator.", Kathy explain before leaving her to check on her teammate. Since Irene once lived in China for few years, so she can understand it well. 

15 minutes later, Kathy go to see Irene who drinking water and she bet that Irene is nervous since this is her first time translating on live with a worldwide superstar. "Hey, are you okay? You will be on stage in 10 minutes.", Kathy sit next to Irene, reaching a bottle of water for her to drink. "Of course, I'm not. I suddenly miss my home.", Irene said and sighed. Kathy laugh, almost spilled the water she drank from her mouth. "You will do a great job. Trust me! Oh, you will walk on stage with him. So, be ready. That's a relieve that you come with makeup on and nice outfit.". "You owe me so much, you know? Payment? What about the payment?", Irene ask as a joke but suddenly Kathy give her a document for her to sign since Irene is part of the event and they should pay her. Irene refuse at first but Kathy insist and she say that this is the procedure she should follow. In addition, this also could be a prove for Irene to put this event in her resume.

Lay's POV

I've done put my makeup on and the outfit is on point. Today, I have interview with reporters from TV network and news. The MC already introduce herself on the stage and it will be my turn and my translator to come to the stage together. WAIT! Where is my translator? "Sorry, I'm late. Hello, I'm Irene.", suddenly a girl approach me and bow. She offer her hand for a handshake after she bowed and that's the moment where I see her. SHE IS HER! THE ONE THAT I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR ALL THIS TIME! MY AI LIN. HOW?
