Meanwhile Steve and Natasha have been talking nonstop about random things. They decided to take a break from preparing so they could get to know one another. It turns out they have a lot in common. "Okay favorite subject when in school?" Steve asks. "Hm I would have to say math, you?" Natasha answers. "Math seriously? Wow Natasha I'm ashamed of you" Steve jokes. They both laugh "for me it would be art" he finally answers. Then the ground starts to shake. "Nat?" Steve says using the nick name he gave her. "What's going on?" He asks. "Run!" Nat yells. Just as she says that a weird creature emerges from the trees. It has a dog's body and a snake's head. Both Nat and Steve run as fast as they can. They get to the ravine and Nat yells "jump!" Steves unsure so Nat grabs his hand, and they jump together. They land on the other side on the ground. The weird creatures disappear. Steve gets up and puts out his hand to help Nat up. "Thanks" she says taking it. They walk toward the waterfall and sit down. "What was that?" Steve asks. Nat sighs "every week the forest tests me to make sure I'm still worthy of protecting it." "What if you fail?" He asks. She looks at him "then I die."

The rest of the day was quiet. Nat continues to prepare Steve for the test. Over the next week the two of them spend a lot of time prepping for the forest test.  The full moon is in two days and Steve is honestly feeling terrified.  Sam and Bucky have been secretly enjoying each other's company, not telling their friends that they are together.  Today, when Sam sees Steve leaving, he runs after him.  "Hey man" Sam says. "Hey Sam", Steve replies. "Where are you going?" Sam asks. Steve is a very loyal friend and lying is hard, but he knows what will happen if he doesn't.  "Just going to explore some more" he says.  "Why? You've done that for the past two weeks", Sam asks.  Steve is worried and tries to come up with a good lie. "If I'm being honest, I just like the alone time" Steve says.  Sam nods, "I get that, but are you sure there's nothing else?"  Steve smiles a fake smile "nothing, trust me" he says.  Sam nods again then heads back inside the cabin. Steve lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding. Then he heads to Natashas cabin.

Sam goes to Bucky's room and luckily Wanda is outside with Clint. "Hey" Buck says noticing Sam enter. Sam sits on the bed silent. Buck notices this and sits beside him "what's up?" Sam sighs "I think Steve is lying to us." Bucky's eyebrows furrow "why would he do that and about what?" "I'm not sure why and about where he's been going the past 2 weeks" Sam answers. Buck shrugs his shoulders "if he's lying, he must have a good reason, we just have to trust him." Sam nods "your right." "I always am" Bucky smirks. Sam laughs "dork." "Your dork" Buck says. The next morning Sam watches as Steve leaves yet again to "be alone". Sam thinks about whether he should follow his friend. Or trust him on his reasonings. Sam finally comes to a decision. He....
