his whispers of cold air brushing against my neck sent chills down my spine. how did this happen again?

"kaeya...this is the last time..."

"i know, doll. open your mouth." 

the minute he left i felt the cold feeling of his touch shivering down my body. i wish i hadn't given in, not again.  i never know when to say no to a knight, especially not to him.  never ending thoughts of guilt filled my brain. he was betrothed to some lady from liyue with the vision, me? i'm a nobody. i don't mind, though. walking around mondstadt without a single responsibility didn't seem like the worst thing ever, sipping drinks from diona instead of slaying hilichurls and abyss mages was heaven to me. it was bland, but i made it work.

"y/n! over here, can you help me? please? i just need 2 small lamp glass..my mom said i can't go to the whispering woods at night because it isn't safe. i really need them for my display tomorrow!"

i never know how to say no to flora. she's practically keeping mondstadt together. her display is the first thing you see when you enter, and probably one of the most magnificent things to see in the morning.

"of course. just two?"

"yes! thank you so much." 

her little arms barely wrapped around my waist while she hugged me, i smiled and hugged her back.

"i'll be back in an hour."

"y/n! be safe! you know it's a bit more dangerous at night." 

katheryne yelled from her stand. she wasn't wrong, bigger troups of hilichurls have slowly started moving in on mondstadt recently, bummer for those of us without any form of defense.

"i will." 

walking at night was peaceful. the dandelions jean had recently replanted glowed in the moonlight, and fireflies danced around the grass. even the anemo slimes flew in the air, not bothering a soul. as much as mondstadt is boring during the day, it surely is a gorgeous sight at night.  avoiding hilichurl camps was easy, i was quiet and graceful enough for them to not notice me. avoiding monsters had become a second nature at this point. without a vision, you're practically dead if you get caught.  whispering woods was usually free of any monsters at night. only dandelions, small lamp glass and anemo crystalflies lit it up, it was really pretty. finding the small lamp glass was hard, and i ended up trekking deeper into the woods than i'd expected. knights come almost everyday collecting them to complete commissions. 

"fuck, where are they? there has to be some somewhere." 

it felt like i'd walked around the trunk of almost every tree in the woods. i'd even considered going home empty handed, then saw it. two perfect small lamp glass about 10 meters deeper into the woods. god, i'd almost walked right to the dawn winery.
