It was difficult for Eumeh Sy to have a nerve to hand the agreement that would end her marriage to John Lhou, the Lee family's steward.
Sighing in resignation , John Lhou went over the document and noticed clauses that made him frown. He looked at girl sharply and bellowed, "Eumeh !?" Incredulous, he asked , "Do you realize how stupid this is? I can understand if you want to divorce Mr. Lee. After all , you haven't seen the man for the past three years. But why aren't you asking for any money ?"
At 20, Eumeh Sy was still at college of some university. Her Father died years ago and didn't know who her Mother was. In John Lhou's opinion,she shouldn't want divorce, let alone divorcing without money.
Eumeh Sy scratched the back of her head in embarrassment. She was well aware that John Lhou always treated her as a daughter , so she had no plans of keeping secrets from him. " I want to drop out of school," she stammered
"WHAT!?" John Lhou was shocked of what he heard "wait ! why suddenly leave school? did someone bullied you ? any problem with your studies? or having hard time with your professors?" The steward's eyes widened in astonishment.
"No, no , no! it's not like that you're overreacting, John. You already know, I-I don't like school , i hate studying. So I don't want to waste my time in university," she explained.
Her means of dropping out school was lame but only one that came to mind quickly to stall him off. But she was not telling anyone the real reason for wanting a divorce.
She was silent for a while, as several thoughts ran through her mind. 'Tommorrow is my 21st birthday and third wedding anniversary. I'm still young . I don't want this hollow marriage to stand in the way of pursuing true love, I've never seen Liam Lee in person. My Father arranged this marriage. How can anyone live like this?' she thought desperately.
Sensing that the girl will not share anything else, John Lhou conceded, "It appears you've made up your mind, so I will... " He waited for her to say something. " I'll hand the divorce papers to Mr. Lee this afternoon" the steward said with a deep sigh when she didn't respond at all.
"Thank you so much , John!" she let out a huge sigh of relief before giving the man a sweet smile.
But John Lhou could not help himself as he stared at the young girl and said "Eumeh, Mr. Lee is a Great man. I believe that you are both perfect match , so I do hope you will think this through carefully and reconsider. if you change your mind, you may call me anytime." he said sincerely.
Of all he said , two words stood out that Eumeh Sy cringe, 'perfect match? He didn't even show up at the wedding! And at the photograph on our marriage certificate was photoshopped.
For the last the three years, I haven't seen the man. So , what is John saying that we are perfect match' Eumeh coudn't stop thinking and having sarcastic thoughts in her head.
At last coming back to her senses , breaking the long silence . The young lady took a deep breath before speaking again. In her mind she intended to say "I've made up my mind, sorry John that would be impossible." But as a sign of respect fo John Lhou who has been taking care of her like a father , she uttered simple word "OKAY" .
Thinking she might have a change of hearts John Lhou waited until afternoon to handed the divorce papers but to his dimay the young lady didn't call him.
John Lhou hesitated to come in Mr. Liam Lee's office as he can see the man is busy looking at some files. The wide luxurious CEO's office .

John Lhou can see him through the wide glass. He hesistated to go in for a while until he decided to go in . Knocking three times . The Cold look CEO look up while sitting in his luxurious chair and said "Come in" in plain tone .
"What brought you here ?" Liam Lee asked. "I have a document here that require sign" he said in very respectfully tone.
"What document is it ?" Came the cold reply. Sensing the impatience in CEO's voice.
After hesitating briefly, the steward answered out of words " A divorce agreement."
The cold CEO stuck for a while as he let the words sink in. He closed his eyes and rubbed his brows thoughtfully .
He came back to his senses remembering he has a wife and remembering that he's married for three years.
As he has in thought 'Oh, i have a wife. If John didn't come to my office mentioning it, I wouldn't even remember that I am married and have a wife'
"Just put the papers in my study room , I'll check it later." Liam lee said coldly and emotionless as always .
"Yes , Boss," acknowledge and asked for his leave after that. He didn't want to take long with his time because he knows that the man is always and surely workaholic all the time.
After seeing the steward leaving , Liam Lee stared for a moment in his table that full of documents, those are from a lot of company that offers a lot of contracts that want to be affiliated to his company.
He picked his phone and called one of his secretary , "Clear my schedule this afternoon till evening . The meeting of Gao Group , I want you to move it by tommorow evening at some private lounge." He demanded to the secretary who answered.
"Copy that, Mr. Lee." The secretary answered briefly. After hanging up one of his secretary name Lyka Cheng called one of the CEO's personal assistant Edward Han.
The CEO has Eight secretaries working in his floor building and has three personal assistant. One of them is Edward Han one of his most trusted man.
"Edward, Mr. Lee asked me to cancel all of his schedule this afternoon to evening. As his demand the meeting with the Gao Group will be held at some private lounge, you need to book for it"
"Okay , Got it" Edward respond. Edward Han is 27 years old , he's been working for him for seven years. And he knows his boss very well that he don't want any delays .
After talking to the woman in the other line he called the branch manager of one of the CEO owned. 'Heaven Night Club' the name of the night bar.
The Five Star bar where Edward book. "Prepare the VIP lounge for Mr. Lee, and cook the favorite dishes of Gao group , also the favorite wine of Mr. Lee" Edward Han demanded briefly.
