POV: Harper
"This is um, this is awkward." Lauren hesitated to get in bed. "Like, do you want me to sleep on the couch till this is resolved or are you okay with me sleeping here with you?"
"Lauren, just get in bed. It's late and I'm tired." I pulled the blankets up to my chin and curled up into a ball.
"Would you be comfortable with that? I don't want to lay down and you not be able to sleep because we are a little tense." Lauren rubbed her hand palms on her pants and avoided eye contact.
"Do you want to sleep on the couch?" I asked her in a similar tone to hers.
"What? No! I just want to make sure you're comfortable." Lauren took a deep breath.
"Be the confident businesswoman you are and get your ass in bed. It is late. I am tired. I want to go to sleep. That is what I want." I turned over and she turned the lamp off.
I waited for another minute of her not getting in the bed.
"Lauren Jauregui. Get. In. Bed." I snapped at her and she quickly got in bed.
"Sorry. Sorry." Lauren mumbled as she slid under the covers.
"Thank you." I grunted and pulled the blankets closer to me.
"You're taking all of the blankets." Lauren tried to hold back a laugh and continue to be awkward, but I wasn't having it.
"Hun, think about why I would purposefully take the blankets." I stared blankly at the wall.
"You want to annoy me?" Lauren's answer was more of a question than an answer.
"That would be something I would do, but no. Try again. I'll give you a hint. It is cold and we are sharing a bed." I slowly blinked at the wall ahead of me. When she was nervous, which was more than rare, her thought process was nonexistent.
"Oooooh," Lauren finally got the point and scooted right behind me before pulling me to her chest. "This is much better." She pressed a gentle kiss to my shoulder.
I issued a quiet "mhm" as the familiar calmness washed over me.
"Goodnight, baby." Lauren's voice quickly became raspier.
"Night." I scooted back into her as much as I could before finally being able to sleep.

"Dari, I know I say this every morning, but I mean it this time! If you don't start to make your side of the bed up when you get your ass up I am going to beat your ass!" Max yelled from the top of the stairs.
Lauren and I watched Max take heavy, pissy steps down the stairs.
"It takes ten seconds and it won't wake me up! If I can sleep through your loud ass snoring I can sleep through you pulling the blankets back up!" Max stormed right up to Darius who was standing like a deer in headlights next to the stove.
"I made coffee?" Darius nodded to his peace offering.
Max squinted his eyes up at him before walking over to the coffee pot and pouring himself a cup before adding a fuck ton of creamer.
"Dude, would you like some coffee with your creamer?" I asked Max as he put a literal pinch of sugar in it as if it would make a difference.
"No, this is good. Thanks though." Max gave me a tight sarcastic smile.
"No problem. Just making sure." I shot the same smile back.
"The amount of attitude in this room is thick this morning." Darius pulled at his collar and shot Lauren a SOS look.
