Behind a closed door in a quiet neighborhood there was mischief. Zoey was the only child in her family and she was 5, turning 6 in two weeks. It was April 21,1998 and Zoey had never had a birthday party in her life. Zoey did not have any friends and she got beaten at home and picked on at school. One day, before school her Dad made breakfast and she got half of a biscuit ,a teaspoon of grits ,and she had to wear her dirty uniform from 3 weeks ago. Her mom had washed her and her husband clothes except for Zoey's clothes.
