I sighed. "Dear, we've talked about this. It would be better if you could socialize more with people your age."

My daughter let out a huff. "All they're going to do is just...worship me I guess. I want friends! Not servants!"

I sighed. "That's not going to change what's going to happen. You will be going to a proper public school this year. If you wish otherwise, feel free to yell into The Box." She sighed, and she gave me those stupid puppy eyes.

"Ugh. Please, darling, just deal with it. When you were younger, you wanted outside of the mansion all the time! What happened to that child I loved?" I knew that I had gotten her thanks to her body language.

"Alright. I guess that it wasn't that interesting after a while. But yeah. You are right." I smiled and gave her a hug.

"Good. You are dismissed."

She got up and started walking to the door, but then she stopped.

"Hey...what happened...last year?"

I had a flashback.

The gun aimed at me.

I shook my head. "That information is too tainted for your head, Jennifer dear."

I could tell she wanted that answer, and badly.

"I'm sorry...I just don't want to ruin your life with that information. That is all."

Jennifer sighed.

"Fine. I'll be in my room."

The door shut behind her, and I sat in the living room, alone in the silence.

The phone rang.

I answered it.

"Alright, Alex. I want the money, and soon."

"I told you-"

"I told you, I don't give a shit about whatever excuses you have. Get me the money. Don't make me resort to...more desperate methods."

The line was terminated.

I closed my eyes.

I need help.
