Vaidehi rubs her feet on the ground, shyly keeping her head down.
She is now in the back of her house with Balu , their parents have sent them to go and talk alone but they both are too shy to open up.
"Uhm n-neenga r-romba azhaga irukeenga (You are very beautiful)" Balu blurts out as he nervously tries to start a conversation.
"R-r-really?" Vaidehi asks , still shy with her head up.
"Your eyes , your cheeks , your lips , your him a-and y-your everything , they are just beautiful" Balu says stuttering yet mesmerized by her eyes.
Vaidehi blushes yet again as she looks into the shining greyish black eyes of Balu.
Vaidehi opens her mouth to reply but she is being interrupted.
"Balu they are calling you both to come inside !" Divya says and runs back in.
They both blush looking at each other as they make their way inside.
"We have fixed the marriage for coming Sunday , is it ok with you both ?" Balu's father asks.
They both look at each other once again searching for answer in each other's eyes.
"Enough of romancing answer maama (uncle)" Divya teases as they both look away.
"It is ok with me pa (father)" Balu says with a wide smile.
"It is ok with me too" Vaidehi says in a very small voice.
Both their families talk for some time , with them stealing secret glances , and finally decide to disperse.
"Ok sambandhi , we can talk about the rest tomorrow morning. We will be staying in my wife's brother Sundaram's house , you would know him , his home is just next street" Balu's father says as they all stand up.
"Haan sambandhi , how will I not know him , he is my great aunt's grandson" Vaidehi's father replies straightening his shirt.
"Oh is it sambandhi ? Then that means we are related, how did I not know ?" Balu's father says frowning.
"That is why you should live in our native village itself instead of living in pattanam (town)" Sundaram says coming up near Balu's father.
They all crack up laughing , walking towards the exit.
Balu staggers as everyone disperse , desperately wanting to talk atleast a word to Vaidehi before going out.
Vaidehi keeps her head down , hoping to hear Balu's voice.
Balu silently walks towards Vaidehi , tieing his hands behind his back.
