My Castle, My Rules

On the weekend, Maira was invited to go to the movie theaters with Erin and Kaylie.

When she left, Iza was stuck in her room with nothing to do.

She took out her notebook and decided to start writing about an adventure.

She was on her throne, surrounded by her servants. Everything was kept peaceful. There were people all around her castle that lived there for protection from the outside world beyond the walls.

Suddenly a servant rushed towards her to deliver news.

"My Queen! There is an intruder who we can not identify!! They are on a boat heading this way!"

She looked over to him and declared, "It is no threat to us! They will be taken care of by the various monsters that plague the area outside the walls!"

"Yes my Queen!" He then rushed off.

Queen Iza walked out into a hallway. Then she made her way over a balcony where she could see a large area over the land.

In the distance she couldn't believe her eyes.

There was a giant flying monster that had limbs missing. It was bleeding and there was ice everywhere. It roared and shook the whole land. Queen Iza summoned her Aatish Katar and decided to go and see what was going on by herself.

She made her way outside the gateway of the kingdom and brought a small army of soldiers with her. There they were immediately attracted by giant wasps with swords for stingers. She helped to fight them off when she suddenly heard another loud roar.

One of the soldiers screamed, "MY QUEEN! WE CAN'T KEEP HOLDING THESE OFF! WHAT SHOULD WE DO?!"

"We press onward! Everyone run and keep up with me!!"

They charged through with full speed. One by one soldiers were getting stabbed through their hearts and killed by the monsters. Iza also noticed that they were being followed by wolves made out of steel. Their claws and teeth are out of titanium.

They couldn't stop nor turn around or they would all die.

"DON'T STOP RUNNING!!"

All Queen Iza wanted was to find out who killed the giant monster and why the wild life was so aggravated.

Up ahead she saw something she never would have expected.

A girl with two long icicles was slaying large monsters by herself. She was quick and would shatter her ice weapons inside the monsters and instantly create new ones. She even threw icicle daggers and seemed to be able to freeze the air with her breath.

She was unlike anything ever seen before.

That girl saw Iza and immediately rushed towards her. Iza knew she had to fight this girl, whoever she was, she was definitely dangerous!

The Queen lunged towards the ice girl and then she—

A loud knock banged on Iza's door, waking her up.

"Huh? Mama?"

Her dad spoke, "(Your mother and I will be right back okay Iza? Don't open the door for anyone, got it)?"

"Okay." Iza replied.

"Ugh... that was a dream?! I wish I was writing that down... now I can't remember what was happening..."

Iza had fallen asleep on top of her notebook. She looked down at it and read what she wrote last.

"My Queen! There is an intruder who we can not identify!! They are on a boat heading this way!"

She didn't get any farther than that.

"I swear this is the worst feeling... ugh..."

Iza started trying to write again, but this time she started to think about Kaylie.

"I still don't like her... she freaked out over something so small and stupid!!"

Iza stopped writing.

"The worst part is how she's acting like everything is all better by inviting Maira and I to the movies!! Maybe it was her sister's idea."

Iza was staring at the wall.

"I want to meet her sister... If she is that perfect, maybe that's why Kaylie seems like she's trying to be perfect too. I'm still not gonna feel bad for her, she shouldn't have snapped at me for nothing."

Iza flopped onto her back.

"I feel sad, but I don't want to feel that way. Kaylie and Maira get on my nerves, but they're the ones outside having fun together... I guess that means I am the one who might be wrong, but I don't wanna apologize to anyone."

The rest of the day went by slowly for Iza.

Maira returned and started telling Iza all about the movie she saw. Iza listened but tried not to seem like she cared. Maira seemed really happy.

"(And then! He got behind the dinosaur and everything went BOOM!! Erin screamed and it was SUPER funny)!!"

Iza had a slight smile and she was nodding.

Maira slowed down, "(I don't know why you're mad at Kaylie, but she said that she wanted to say sorry to you)."

Iza looked at Maira, and Maira was smiling.

"(Maira... you seem really happy, did you enjoy everything that much?)" Iza asked.

"(Yeah, But I also told Erin about how we fought each other and she told me to be nicer to you... Even if you act like a pig to me, I still love you anyway!)"

Maira jumped over to Iza and gave her a hug.

"Whoever Erin is, I have to meet her..."
