I stared at the name I resented.
Cal G. Fabian.
It seemed innocent enough, hung up on the door, but no. If only they knew.
I grasped the door handle and slowly twisted it, trying not to make a sound, but I stopped. I couldn't face him.How Did it come to this? How could one little bet ruin me?
I loathed that name, and I loathed that man. I hated him for making me feel this way. Hated the rules to this stupid bet. I hated everything about this man, but I can't stop feeling the way I feel. His name is Cal Gregory Fabian. CEO of a big marketing company. Not only was he filthy rich, he had the looks, the brains, and pretty much everything else a girl could ask for. It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair because I had been assigned to a different client, and unfortunately, it so happened to be him. The big shot, the one every girl wants to get their hands on.
Not me.
I just wanted to get the hell out of there.
Everybody thinks he's some intelligent ladies man, but oh no. He was so much more. He wasn't sweet, he was a jerk. An asshole at the very least. He thinks he's the shit because he has money, because he can get tons of women, because of his amazingly good looks and his super smarts, which, did I mention, wasn't fair?
Why couldn't he have had a beer belly, or be ugly? It just made my job so much harder. Having to look at him everyday. Having to be near this disgusting man. It was hard. Probably the hardest thing I've ever done, but it only got worse.
I developed feelings for him.
He acts like an asshole most of the time, but those little brief moments when he acts like a real person, they make me swoon. If only he smiled more, he would be so much more attractive. If only he had a nicer personality, I would actually consider going for him.
What am I thinking? There's no way in hell I would date that scum bag. I'd rather live in the slums.
I won't let him win this time. I can't let him win anymore. I'll win this, even if it kills me.
I'll win the love bet.
