CHAPTER 1
One by one, the girls enter quietly in the conference room. A total of six tall, muscular men can be seen standing firmly around a young woman sitting on a chair, examining each of them as they nervously settle down to their seats. Before anything else, they each release a big breath to calm their trembling bodies.
The young woman stands up and bends her neck from side to side, loud cracks echoing around the room. Clearing her throat, she starts to speak with her Aussie accent. "As you all don't know who I am, I am the Commander-in-Chief of this building that you are currently in. By all means, I am the one who handles everything that happens here. And I have the authority to terminate all your contracts if a single mistake has been done. Understood?" she asks and they immediately reply with a firm nod.
With just a snap of her fingers, the men who were standing beside went to the back to guard the doors. "From now onwards, I want you to call me Captain. There is no need to know about my identity or whatsoever. Any questions concerning my private life are forbidden."
They all shared confused glances as to why she mentioned that. Despite their curiosity, one of them boldly says, "Is that really necessary?"
The Captain turns her head to the girl who had a straight face, showing no fear to the senior she was looking at. She looks down at her pin name --- Kim Yura. "Is there a problem with that, Ms. Kim?" she says with a stern voice, making the latter avert her gaze to somewhere else.
"As you all may not know, our company does not keep any of our profiles here. Every person who works here is just a co-worker to someone and are just strangers to each other." She looks at them to see wide, rounded eyes, and continues, "No one knows any a thing about me --- my name, age, address and so on. All they know is that I am the substitute replacement of the former head counselor. That is the only thing that is necessary to know."
A complete silence filled the room as all the girls were in their own thoughts; confusions slowly building up. The Captain stands up and grabs the small remote on her desk, clicking the left side button.
A long white screen sliding down on the windows with the lights being dimmed as well. As she starts to speak, her words are being typed down on the board. "First things first, there are rules recommended to strictly follow. If you are to fail to obey these, whether purposely or secretly, do not be shocked if you will be withdrawn from this team without knowing."
She takes the metal pointer stick and extends its length, pointing it towards them. "The first rule reflects on how you will work here. No one is allowed to have any sort of relationship or even start one behind my back. I don't care if you would develop feelings to whomever it will be but you are to force yourself to have a control of it and would just have to keep it on your own."
Upon hearing that, they were flabbergasted, eyes widened. Some were hesitating to agree since some of them are already in a relationship, a long distance one that is.
"Second rule. No cell phones or any type of gadgets are allowed between your working hours. You are to put them in a safe box where it will be placed every time you will start working. However, I will be providing a phone-like material whenever I want you to do something for me if I am not around your sight. Technically speaking, a walkie-talkie."
"Third rule. You are to respect one another. No quarreling, shouting or any physical harm. If ever one of these things happen, you will be heading right away to the conference room for an hour with the one you had trouble with. This way, you could reflect on your wrong doings. I suggest that all of you should know the people in this room you are now with and be able to create companions at least."
"Fourth rule. You are not to eat as much as you want. We provide enough foods to serve in order to maintain your health and diet. This is extremely is a must for your daily training here."
"Fifth rule. Without your tasks finished on time, there is no time for you to take your beauty sleep or take a nap at least. And I am not allowing you to give me any of your reasons or excuses. I could care less if you grow dark circles hanging below your eyes."
"Sixth rule, which brings me to my most important rule. I am saying this only once and you must get this into your brain. I highly disapprove of any sort of betrayals between me and your fellow colleagues or any foolish actions that will lead this company in serious danger. Else, you will see the wrong side of me."
She puts down the stick and looks at them with a slight smirk on her face. "By the way, these are only the main rules I've made. There are still a couple of them in the book which I will be giving out to you later on. It has a total of 30 pages and 10 rules on each page for all of you to memorize."
And with this, all had their mouths hanging. When they saw the look their Captain was giving, an intense glare to be exact, they immediately closed them.
As the lights start to brighten, she places her hands on the table and leans forward. "Listen carefully," speaking in a more serious tone.
"We've been living in a world where anonymous creatures have been planning to destroy our planet. Their powers are extremely vigorous and cannot be easily undefeated. Hence, innocent people in our community have been disappearing one by one without having any clues where they are right now--dead or alive. As a leader of this team, I am willing to take the responsibility for any consequences that would take place or any harm that would lead my people into crisis. Therefore, we need your mutual effort, my undercover spies."
