We had a deadline of fifteen minutes before we left for the hospital. I brushed my teeth, got myself showered and dressed in a random pair of jeans, a hoodie and sneakers. I haphazardly ran a brush through my wet curls before I was rushing out of my room.

Reece and Phoenix weren't out yet so I used it to my advantage and made my way to the kitchen. I grabbed a Pipeline Punch Monster from the fridge, which I knew wasn't allowed but I needed a caffeine boost after being up during the night.

Seconds later, Reece was behind me and grabbing two RedBulls, making sure to tell me that the Monster was only a one time thing.

The two us rushed out of the house to the driveway where Phoenix's Tesla was already idling and he was waiting for us. He didn't bother pulling it into the garage after we got back home form McDonald's the night before, well early morning.

Phoenix sped his way through the security gate and still continued to drive like a mad man when we were out. I didn't mind, I liked the speed.

I popped my can Monster and Phoenix looked at me through the rearview mirror.

"You let her have Monster?" Phoenix looked at Reece exasperatedly.

"I didn't let her do anything!" Reece hissed back.

"Finish that before we get to the hospital." Phoenix warned.

I nodded, "Don't worry, it'll be finished." I assured while taking a gulp of the fruity caffinated drink.

The car ride was far to tense for any of us to care enough about engaging in any kind of conversation. By then, all of us already memorised our way to ICU ward and soon enough, the three of us found Elijah, Ryder and Aiden sitting in the ICU waiting room.

Elijah shot up from his seat when the three of us walked in, "They told us only two of us allowed. They didn't want to overwhelm him, some bullshit policy or something." Elijah informed disdainfully.

"But he's okay?" Reece asked, panic and worry lacing his tone.

"Yeah, as far as we know, he's good." You would've thought getting news as good as that would make someone happy but Elijah still looked panicked, worried, frustrated and all the other emotions in that spectrum.
