"I still fail to understand why none of my brothers were up to do this minuscule task."
"Because my lady, you were the best candidate for this seeing as your brothers were too childish for the tas- my lady, please." her maid exclaimed as she saw Y/n completely ignored her as she kept reading her book.
"If I'm gonna stay there for two days then why did you bring heaps of clothes? What am I attending? A fashion show, cause I would have rather preferred that." shot back Y/n calmly as she felt the carriage stop.
"Let's get this over with." she mumbled to herself as her maid exited first and soon offered her hand for Y/n to take who accepted it gladly.
She raised her skirt a bit and exited the carriage with her usual neutral face.
Her maid moving smoothly and was already behind her with a black parasol in hand as she shielded Y/n from the warm rays of the sun.
"This place is too warm." she grumbled to herself.
Y/n's pine green silk dress that reached below her ankles fluttered a bit as she stepped fully on the ground, her white sheer gloves that ended right above her elbows adding more elegance to her look. Her long raven hair was styled in an elegant bun as a small braid was wrapped around it with pearls beautifully adorning it as her side bangs framed her face lovingly.
"Oh my! Princess Dela Verdant! How lovely for us to be graced with your radiant presence!" a rather old yet friendly butler exclaimed, bowing low as a very long line of guards stood at ease behind him.
They all seem to have a light blush coating their cheeks which made Y/n roll her eyes discreetly at that.
"The pleasure is all ours, sir." her maid, Susie, greeted him, bowing curtly as a hefty amount of maids came and took the suitcases and went up ahead and presumably brought them to the room where she was to stay for the night.
She opened her mouth and all the people around her were swayed and attracted to it, to say the least.
"Is the emperor not here to greet me? Am I that faint in his eyes?" she commented with her usual cold voice as she looked around, "A-Ah no! Of course not your highness! The emperor is currently waiting for you in his gazebo, please." the butler quickly explained as he motioned with his hands to follow him.
She passed her book to her maid behind her as she followed the butler.
They passed through countless corridors as she was finally before the glass doors of the gazebo.
"The emperor requests a private audience with you, your highness." the butler commented with a kind smile as Y/n nodded understanding as she passed by him but not before sending a small smile in his direction.
She heard the door close with a soft thud behind her and looked ahead.
"The third child of the Dela Verdant family, Princess Y/n Cordelia Dela Verdant greets his highness the emperor." she voiced, smoothly grabbing the sides of her dress and bowed curtly and gracefully.
"Princess Y/n, my, what a great pleasure to meet you." Hyacinth replied as he stood up from his seat and walked towards her, bowing low as his other hand reached for Y/n's and gave her gloved hand a gentle kiss.
