When Time Stops

A/N: I just wanted to say before this chapter begins, that the Italic quotes are coming from a conversation between Zen and Izana, in Clariness, whilst the fight was happening. 

When Time Stops

Suddenly there was a knock on the door. "Excuse me, something has come for Obi, from prince Zen." The butler stated. He held a neatly wrapped item in his hands.

Akari POV

I watched anxiously as Obi peels the seal of the letter. I search for any emotion in his eyes, while he reads the paper, until he gasps, and shoots his brown orbs at Shirayuki. "Miss, you can't go to the ball tonight. Apparently, the boy who is looking for you will be at the castle with company. Shirayuki's eyes widened before me.

Then, the curtains of the room fly open abruptly.

"I am going."

I rush to hold a guarding stance in front of the petrified red haired lass.

"Brother."

Obi stands with me, his arms stretched out in front of Shirayuki and I.

"Shirayuki is the girl I wish to marry."

There on the balcony, stands a young looking blond boy. He scans the room, before his lips stretch into a cheshire cat smile.
"Shirayuki, I found you!"

"I see. Go if you want, I won't stop you. However, if you get into a dangerous situation, that requires my help... don't bring that girl back into the castle."

I couldn't put my finger on it. But this pretty boy was familiar. I know I saw him before. I just can't recall...

"A-A PRETTY BOY?!" Obi and Shirayuki's voices pierce the silence.

I had yet to say anything, still holding my guard, while scanning every inch of the boy's face.

"Hm? I mean, it's true this is how I look. But yet, I'm flattered, for you to both say it, our first time seeing each other?"

"Are you- Kazuki?" Shirayuki gasps.

"Hmm have you heard of me? I would love to sit and talk, but that can wait til later." The blond lad replies.

It was like my 6th sense kicked in. I leapt towards Shirayuki, right as a man swung through the windows.

"Miss go outside-!" Obi yells, nearly getting punched in the face. I get into position, swinging my legs towards the older male.

"Obi! Akari! SOMEONE HELP!" Shirayuki calls out.

"Shirayuki. Go outside. It is my duty to protect you so listen to what I say before you get hurt." I held a firm voice, even though I was scared. I haven't fought a real enemy in a while, and I was fighting back the traumatic memories in my head. I look back at Shirayuki for a split second. That was when I caught the Kazuki boy wrapping her in a sheet, constricting her arms.

Hastily I ran towards them, my hood flying off from the intense speed, and wind coming through the open balcony doors. I could see Kazuki's eyes widen for a moment, his pupils dilated, piercing into mine. "That guy is fighting evenly with Itoya? If he's from the castle... we have to leave him behind." Kazuki whispers to himself, glancing at Obi. "Shirayuki?" I hear the door open, and Rona's voice. I retract my arm, swinging it firmly into Kazuki's abdomen. He grunts but still kicks Shirayuki's calves, making her fall backwards. As I run towards him again, ready to attack, he surprises me, by pushing his head forward, clashing our foreheads together. What in the world was this kid's head made out of- Concrete?! I grunted, falling back. That's when he took his chance to tie Shirayuki securely. I glanced over at Obi, my head was pounding and I was getting dizzy. That's when I felt something hard hit my head.

Third Person POV

Obi turns at the sound of something hitting the floor. The last thing he saw before blacking out was Kazuki pulling the blue strands of a passed out Akari, and observing her face, up close.

"Ba-st-ard." Obi chokes out.

"Stop!" he wanted to say. But his eyes blurred, before shutting tightly.

"Obi! Akari!" Shirayuki glances around frantically. Akari laid in front of her, and Obi passed out a few feet away. The older man, Itoya, lifted Shirayuki up with one arm, ready to leave.

"Wait. get this one too. I've seen her before." Kazuki says, pointing at Akari.

"NO! GET AWAY FROM AKARI!" Shirayuki yells, struggling within Itoya's hold.

With one simple swift, Itoya gets back up, with Akari, secure in his other arm.

"OBI! OBI! PLEASE WAKE UP!" Shirayuki calls out desperately. As she shakes, and turns, the golden watch that Zen gave her slipped off, and shattered on the floor. The glass covering was in pieces, and the hands stopped moving. The time had stopped. Kazuki then shoots his arm forward, with a small vial of drugs, making Shirayuki fall limp. He then does the same to Akari, for safety measures.
