A ROUGH WAKING

It all started with a crash.
"Wake up wake up wake up!"
I groan as shards of the teacup's glass rain onto my head. "This isn't going to work, Misty."
The teenager's flaming red hair falls into my face as she leans over me and shakes me awake. "The queen's carriage!"
A jolt of electricity surges through me and I lunge out of my bed. "Are you sure?" I ask her.
Misty points to one of the wide bay windows that are scattered all over the home's walls. I glance outside and see a familiar raven-colored carriage.
Fear floods my veins and I sprint towards a closet.
"Shhh," Misty whispers, closing the door just as a rough knock on the door makes me jump.
I hear the door open as the darkness closes around me.
"How can I help you?" Misty asks the person at the door with over exaggerated politeness.
"Miss Hatter?" asks a deep voice. A man's voice, I note.
"That's my name," replies Misty with a falsely cheery voice.
"We've received info from an anonymous source that a dangerous criminal is in the vicinity. Would you happen to know who we're talking about?"
"Not much to go on, don't you think?"
I can just make out an exasperated grunt from the soldier. At least, I'm assuming it's a soldier. "Female...long hair...what else do you want?" sighs the soldier. There's a pause as he seems to grope for a better description. Finally, something seems to pop into his head. "Ah. You wouldn't happen to remember the War of Red and White a decade or two ago? It's the leader of the opposition's daughter."
"Um, my dad teaches me about it . Duh. Biggest war of Wonderland? But anyway, no. I haven't seen anyone, nor has my dad."
"Well, never mind,Goodbye Miss Hatter" said the large cards man.
The cards man walks away tripping over the garden of wonder weeds and thread sticks. As Misty shuts the door she breaks out in laughter and saying "he's gone and I don't think he's coming back anytime soon"
