Chapter 1

Ito's pov.

My name is Ito Akamine. This is my first time to Ikebukoro. I was now right outside of the train station, waiting for Aoi Hashimoto, a dear friend of mine, to come and pick me up since I wasn't familiar with the city. I checked the time in my phone as she was already 30 minutes late. I exhaled a sigh and leaned on a wall nearby. Fortunately after some moments I heard a familiar voice. Aoi's.

"Ito-chan!!" She waved both of her hands as she was literally running towards me. "Ito-chan!! I am so glad to see you!!" Aoi had medium length wavy blonde hair along with a white pin to keep neatly her hair at the side and blue sea eyes. She wore a baby blue sweater along with a white skirt that reached her knees.

"I am also very happy to see you too Aoi." I smiled at my hyperactive friend. "It's nice having a friend here. I was starting to get very uncomfortable in this unfamiliar place." I laughed nervously rubbing the back of my neck.

"Hey don't mention it! It's only natural since this is your first time in Ikebukoro..." She said trying to make me feel better. "... Also I should apologise. I was too late again!! Please forgive me Ito-chan!" Aoi said while benting 90° before me. I smiled once again and messed her head a little bit. "It's ok Aoi-chan. No need to apologise. How about we go get something to eat?" Aoi's eyes immediately lighted up. "Let's go then!" She grabbed my hand and started dragging me through the streets.

"So where are we going?" I asked Aoi out of pure curiosity. "We are going to eat sushi! That place is totally the best! I highly recommend it!" "So what is it called?" "Russian sushi. I am sure that you will like it!" I nodded and continued letting Aoi drag me to the so called 'Russian sushi'. Honestly I could care less about what the food was since I was too hungry to care. After a couple of hours of traveling, I just need to get something to eat.

We arrived at a small restaurant and right outside of it stood a very, like very tall black guy trying to inform the people about the restaurant only for him to be ignored by most of them.

"Russian sushi! Sushi is good! Come and eat sushi!"

"Why hello there Simon! Long time no see!" Aoi wend over ahead and talked to the black man by the name Simon. "Hashimoto-chan! Long time no see! Want to eat sushi? Sushi is good!" Said the man gesturing over at the small restaurant. "Yup! I have also brought up my friend! She is new here!" Gestured Aoi showing me to Simon. I held up a straight face and bowed as I introduced myself. "Ito Akamine. Pleasure to meet you sir." "Nice to meet you young lady. Do you like sushi?" "Yeah. I would say that I like it a lot." I putted on a small unnoticed smile and went inside along with my friend and gave our orders.

We were chatting casually about the Ikebukoro in general as she was giving me some advices. "Yeah... So you need to watch out for every color gang." "Is there really a difference between the color gangs and the dollars?" "Well yes but actually no." I deadpanned at my friend's awful explanation. "Well what I mean is... Unlike the color gangs, the dollars are invisible. Everyone could be at any time part of them. And as far as I know they don't have a leader."

Now our meals had arrived and both me and Aoi almost drooled at the sight. That really smells good, I wonder if it tastes the same. "Itadakimasu!" We both said clapping our hands and grabbed the chopsticks starting to eat and indeed the food was really good.

"So...do you like it?" "It's great!~" I said eating more of it. "Say Aoi-chan... Is there anyone else to be careful of?" She didn't even though of it before answering as she shot me with two specific names. Her eyes for the first time today getting serious. "Watch out for Shizuo heiwajima. He is incredibly strong and short tempered so don't piss him off. Then it's Izaya Orihara. He is a devil in human form. He could ruin your life for fun." "I see..." I said a bit skeptical. "Thanks for the info. Is there something else I need to know?" "Not as much as I can recall...If I remember something I will totally tell you!" The sun in her eyes turning on like a switch.
