A "Fun" Monday

It was Monday, which meant I had to meet up with Sir William again. My mother was happier than I have ever seen her in my life. "Iris, let me get you a dress for your first date!" She said, heading to the closest. " No! No, mother, it's okay. I can find my own clothing." I told her, walking her out of my room.

" Oh? But don't you want my help?" She asked, seeming confused and hurt. " I love your help, mother, but I'll like to pick something that's said I picked it. Do you understand?" My mother looked at me and gave me a nod. " Alright, dear, I'll be downstairs to let you know when Sir William gets here." My mother told me before leaving my room.

'Oh finally,' I thought to myself, as I went through my closet. I looked through my clothes, trying to find something that would look nice, but not too nice. I picked out a dark purple flowy dress. It was long, and the sleeves were short. I put on the pretty dress and looked at myself in the mirror. It was soft, and the layers of clothing were...almost see through. I thought to myself how... exposing this outfit was. " I wonder how Sir William thinks of this for a little lady like me." I said to myself with a smirk.

I walked down the stairs with the biggest grin on my face. I spotted my mother down the stairs, seeming very excited. Once she saw me, her once big smile was now a frown. My mother put her hand to mouth and became nervous. " Iris! What an God's name are you wearing?" My mother yelled. "What's wrong, mother? Isn't it a lovely dress?" I gave my mother a turn, but that seems to give her a heart attack.

" Iris..." My mother began as she started to get close to me. " I can see... your lady parts." She finished. I gave her a laugh, liking the way she was so upset. " Mother, it is fine." It is not! Iris, you are a lady, a daughter to a very much respected family. Not a common twat." My mother yelled. I only rolled my eyes at her. " Wait till your father sees how you are looking. It'll kill him indeed!" My mother put her hand on her heart. I was about to say something, before the door was given a firm knock. " Oh, It seems my ride is here!" I giggled, as I ran to the door.

" Iris, don't you walk out that door." My mother demanded. I gave her a wave, I opened the door, quickly walking out, and shut the door behind me. In front of me was Sir William, and I gave him a smile. " Come quickly, we don't have all day!" I said, grabbing on to his arm, and dragging him to the carriage. We hopped in just in time, before my father opened the door. I put my head out the window as we drove off, blowing him a big kiss.

"My, you must have been real excited to come on this trip." William said as he looked out the window to my family. " You could say that. " I replied back. William looked at me, before starting to get a big blush on his face. " Oh, I-I see you picked out such a lovely dress." William told me before looking back at the window. For the whole ride William avoiding eye contact, and I couldn't have been more happy.

We had finally arrived to where William wanted us to be. He hopped out the carriage first, and helped me out after. As I stepped out, I saw dozens of horses around. "Horses?" I asked with a smile. " Yes, that's first part of the surprised." He explained, before walking up to the horses. He walked over with a large white horse with long black hair. "This guy here is Apple." William said. " Apple!? Is it because he likes apples?" I asked with a big smile. " Ha, no. It's because he was afraid of apples when he was a baby." William replied. "Oh, now isn't that just mean." I laughed, putting my head next to Apple's, and giving William a sad face.

" Ha, maybe a little. Would you like same help up?" William asked. " Oh? Yes, please." I walked up to William. William put his cold hands on my waist, before pushing me up on Apple. As I sat on Apple's back, I fixed my dress so I could be comfortable. " Alright, off we go." William started walking us down this path in the woods.

" You know Iris, when I firt saw your outfit I thought 'how could a such a lady like that wear such an outfit'" William stated. I began to smile, feeling happy that my plan on ruining his view on me has succeeded. " But then I thought 'how incredible you are to walk out like that and have no care in the world. That you were comfortable enough to dress how you like, and not wear your mother dresses.' So I must say thank you, for opening up to me." William said as he took my hand with a smile.

I gave him a fake smile, as I beat myself in the inside. ' Why doesn't he just act hellish, so I have a reason not to be with him' I thought. After a while of small chatting we had arrived at a nice opening in the woods. I looked at a small hill, and there was a picnic waiting for us. There were people all around setting it up for our date. " Thank you everyone for your help, you may leave." William said. Everyone gave a bow before walking off to somewhere. William helped me down the horse, before walking me to the soft blanket. I sat down looking all around me seeing the beautiful nature. "Here you are." William handed me a drink. "Thank you." I thanked him.

" You know Iris, since I was a boy, I knew I was being forced to marry someone I didn't know." William explained. " Did you now?" I replied back. " Indeed. At first I was angry. I mean so angry that I used to take whatever weapon I could to hit this tree out in the woods." William laugh, and I giggled with him. "On the first day we were meant to meet I was even more angry, because you didn't wish to see me. But then your family started talking about you, and I began to realized." William took my hand and looked me in the eyes.

" Everytime your family would came and you weren't there, instead of being angry I was curious. Curious to know who really was Iris Templeton. That's what made me like you, you always keep me on my toes." William finished. " William, Thank you for sharing that with me." I began. " Yes, of course." William smiled. " I am not fully there were you are, but I am hoping you would be patient with me." I ended with a smile. " I would be patient for as long as you would like me to be, Iris. All I want is a chance to win your heart." William stated. "And you'll have that chance." I smiled, and gave him a small kiss on his cheek.

The day went by real quick, and I had to admit I did have some fun. William had brought me home, and we waved goodbye. I walked up to my home, and quietly opened the door. I slowly walked up the stairs, but was stopped by my mother. " Oh Iris, you are home! How did it go?" My mother said with excitement. " It was great mother." I said tiredly, before walking up the stairs. I had finally made it to my room, and flopped down on my bed with a sigh. " Today did not go how I wanted it to." I said as I closed my eyes. I moved on my back, and looked up at my ceiling. ' Why must he be so nice?' I thought annoyed. " Why can't be mean like they should be in every story I've read!" I cried out while throwing my heel.

"Maybe there's something wrong with me."
